Wasn't he also at Geelong for a long time?
All down to the training he got when he was a club doctor with us no doubt.:)
He has been at Geelong Footy Club at the time we had Kevin Threlfall as head doc, then Hugh Seward, so certainly some great training.

Any foot injury, I immediately think of Matty Egan and brick it. Though Tomahawk recovered so who knows. Fingers crossed!

It's a different spot though. Navicular and calcaneous injuries are extremely problematic due to the weight bearing of these bones.

Mitch probably has a broken metatarsal, which should heal ok, with or without surgery.

We're still unsure of the diagnosis and prognosis, so speculation is a bit useless without X-ray films and the radiologist's report.

Are you suggesting BF posters speculate/guess/read Tarot cards/throw darts etc. Moneypenny, well I"m

:D

Anyway we know the extent now, possible two weeks but probably eight, diagnosed by Dr. Jon Ralph D.H.

Yeaaahhh still not used to people being completely certain that Mitch's foot cannot be saved and will have to have a below the knee amputation from a few seconds of film, a moon boot and some blurry images of his foot twisting in play. Just more of a wait and see kinda gal. I like evidence :)

Yeah but waiting for evidence takes all the fun out of it surely. Can never understand all the guessing that goes on around here at times, isn't a week that passes without speculation over who may withdraw from the selected side or some such guessing game, helps to pass the time though I guess. :)

It's more the overreactions based on inferences that I don't understand. I like opinions and predictions just fine, especially if they're accurate (bit of footy brain magic). That's fun. Just can't understand going off the deep end based on nothing.

So disappointing. Only just getting back to his best form. I feel like he's a real barometer for us. When he's playing well, we look really good! Selwood can play well regardless of the result, but we look great as a side when he's playing well. Our 09 draft is just shot to pieces, no one either on the list or playing for us at the moment, due to trades, injury or retirements, not good!

I'd hate to have heard your diagnosis and treatment for James Kelly's recent injury....

Does anybody feel like the gods have been against us these last few years? It feels like we start to steady and look like making forward progress, then we get a crippling injury to one of our most crucial players at the perfect time to screw us over. It's unbelievable. That's what is so hard about being a young, inexperienced side. You don't have depth. Take one or two good players out and you've got no chance.

I think it's more that the Gods favoured us for a while and now we are back with rest....

Was this the best case scenario when it comes to foot injuries? Not navicular so it could be worse right?
