Anarchy for the AFC, it's coming sometime...
Setting my AFC bias aside, if I was a GC supporter, I would be absolutely apoplectic if my club traded away picks 2 and 3. Especially after already having traded away last year's pick 2 for Lachie Weller. This is why I think a Crows or Port smash-and-grab for GC's 2 and 3 is pie in the sky stuff. No harm in trying, I suppose.Aside from the fact that GC have said they won’t be trading those picks, they currently have delisted 3 senior players and are likely to lose Lynch, May and Hall too. So that makes 6 spots available. They’re trading in someone (can’t recall who), so there’s 5 spots they need to fill at the draft. Prevailing wisdom suggests their first 5 picks are likely to be 2,3,5,17 and 26. Why would they give up those top few picks for a bundle of lower picks they are unlikely to need and use?
Again, how many times does it need to be stated. If Carlton want Gov, then they will have to offer something substantial to make it happen. It’s not up to other clubs to help you guys out.
