Speculation of this is getting higher and higher so i thought it deserved its own thread.

Two articles posted overnight regarding Mitch Robinsons move to Port Adelaide

Robinson has the Power
Carlton's Mitch Robinson has emerged as a potential back-up plan for Port Adelaide during the trade period as it searches for more midfield depth.
The Adelaide Advertiser reports that while Richmond's Matt White and Brisbane Lion Jared Polec are the priorities, if either fell through, Robinson would be a likely target.
Port football operations chief Peter Rohde said he expected Robinson to be "shopped" to Alberton next week, but a deal would be tricky as the midfielder has another year left on his contract.

PORT Adelaide's search for more midfield depth could include Carlton onballer Mitch Robinson as part of a back-up plan in AFL trade talks next week.
The Power's priorities in the trade window - opening at Etihad Stadium on Monday - remain Richmond free agent Matt White and Brisbane midfielder Jared Polec.
But the "fire sale" at Carlton where the Blues are seeking salary cap relief to fund their major recruiting mission has Robinson on offer as trade bait from Monday.

He is still under contract so what would it cost us to get him here? Id actually prefer Robinson over Polec, hes the big bodied hard nut we need in our midfield!!

I'm a fan of Robinson, would be happy if he found his way to Alberton.

He has family here apparently and his best mate Eddie Betts is going to the Crows..why wouldnt he want to come here

Most overrated in the competition? You're kidding. Who rates him that highly?

He's still contracted and won't budge unless Carlton land a big fish or 2. Wouldn't put much stock in Robinson finding his way here for 2014.

If Carlton land Daisy, Shaw and a KPP though...

I knew I shouldn't have come back for a look.

Oh, and logndonkey, who would you suggest we actually try to trade for, that will help the team, and is actually gettable?

Betts! Chapman! Shaw! Buddy!

Have Port ever done a trade with Collingwood Mick?
Mick could well be miffed about losing Mith.

The only club comment that I have seen was attributed to Rohde when he was "quoted" as saying that Robinson was expected to be "shopped" around to us this week - it doesn't sound like that we are actively chasing him. So maybe a few posters on here need to chillax.

I'd love Robinson. Would be a great fit for our squad imo. Stuff the 'back up plan'. I want all three of those targets. I dont understand the criticism of him. People wax lyrical about how great Moore, Pittard, P Stewart are but seem aghast if we get Robinson, whos output is significantly better than all of the above. This would be a very very good signing if we can get him here.

If we get Polec, White and Robinson our depth wrt non KPPs would be second to none and it would also mean that we would have all bases covered wrt non KPP roles. :thumbsu:

Cannot STAND Mitch Robinson. He has some talent, but with all this talk of a "no dickheads" policy at our club now... it'd just leave me feeling confused and lose some of my faith. His talent is certainly nowhere near a level where we'd risk bringing his character into the club and causing disruption. Plus he's a complete idiot - that punch over the line against Richmond... how do you not know that rule and play AFL?!

It's not what he does on field that matters, off-field is just as important. We shouldn't be going down the path of players with questionable behavioural problems just to fill a spot on our list.

And he backed it up by basically winning Carlton the game in the last 20 minutes.

Has this supposed no dickheads policy been stated anywhere? I dont recall anyone at the club saying it.

I can give you the name of a premiership hero and clean cut guy that did something similar after a trial game if you like ....
