Clark may have been good, but he wasn't great and he surely wasn't up to All Australian Quality against consistent performers like Sandilands.

All who think Clark was shafted is delusional and need to look at the bigger picture instead of having bias glasses on.

I, personally, have no real problem with Clark not being selected in the AA squad (mostly because I don't care much for the AA team) but my comments relate more to your attempts at degrading the season he had.

Fair enough.

I don't believe I'm downgrading his season. I personally could not see him being as good as people described he was. He was good. But he wasn't brilliant like people say he was.

I believe he gets the credit he does because of the fact he was put in such an awkward position at the start of the year. The ruck work he would have planned on doing at the start of the season was as a back-up and not as THE full time ruck.

Regardless of your view, he still did well to be at least competitive in the ruck.

(To SB) That still doesn't justify the caning that you gave him. You're posts, to me, suggest you are trying to pre-empt a downfall next year.

Regardless of what happens in 2010, you can't take away what Clark did this year in such a difficult situation and he is getting the kudos he deserves.

SB, as usual, is just trying to re-write history so that his predictions and analysis from the past look like they were correct.

It's too bad that no-one agrees with his assessment of Clark's season and therefore he'll just have to accept being wrong on this account. :D

He was more than competitive. In fact, he was dominant in many games. For SB to say he merely had only "half" a good season is rubbish. Talk about re-writing history to suit your own story!

Clark got 8 Brownlow votes to Sandilands' 10.

Looking back to 2008:
Dean Cox - 3 Votes.
Sandilands - 10 Votes.

2007:
Cox - 3 Votes.
Brendan Lade - 8 Votes.

These guys were the AA ruckmen on those years. Surely Clark + Sandilands is a better ruck combination than the previous couple of years if Brownlow votes are anything to go by.

This year, Clark's competition was Kreuzer, who got 1 measly vote, Darren Jolly 2 and McIntosh who got 4.

He's well ahead of the next crop of ruckmen. Clearly this is enough evidence to suggest that Clark was the second best ruck this year, and deserved a spot on the AA bench.
