Loved the article - absolutely loved it.

Can't wait to see the boys don the red, white and blue next year.

Roughead, Grant, Ward, Higgins, Wallis, Liberatore, Cordy, Jones - the future's not so bad after all.

On TAC cup future stars shifter predicted Mitch Wallis to go to West Coast at pick 8. If we get him f/s it would be a great steal for a pick 20 or more for top 10 talent.

What do you mean if we get Mitch. We get first dibs don't we?

I was wondering something about the father son rule and whether we have to delclare that we will take Mitch and libba before trade week? Obviously we will have to use our first two picks in the draft to get them.

But if this isn't the case could we then use our first and second round draft picks during trade week to trade for other up and coming players or established players from other clubs and still get these two under f-s with much later picks?

I think you have caught on that we only need to use our NEXT AVAILABLE pick but just to clear something up. The father son nomination is done BEFORE the trade period.

It is mentioned a few times in the thread.

If we can get picks 9 and 16 for Harbrow we would be smiling all the way to the bank with both Libba and Wallis we could go another tall back and onballer

Both boys will be in action on Wednesday at Etihad Stadium. Free entry. I urge people to go down if they can. They are in the third game of the day

Are these the U18 games they were saying have been shifted?

Dalrymple rated both players as top 30 picks in last years draft had they been available. Happy times.

Games next week are:

Tuesday, June 29

Queensland v Northern Territory, 12.30pm, Visy Park

Tasmania v NSW/ACT, 2.30pm, Visy Park

Wednesday, June 30

Vic Metro v Western Australia, 12.35pm, Skilled Stadium

Vic Country v South Australia, 2.45pm, Skilled Stadium

Both Wallis and Libba didn't play in yesterday's Vic Metro game, unsure if either is playing in the final game on Wed at Skilled.

Is this right ?

I thought Bulldog Sam Reid was from Queensland.

Also Magpie Ben Reid has a brother Sam Reid at the Swans and they are sons of former Bulldog Bruce Reid.

You are right but his brother is playing for NSW/ACT

Yeah, his parents(customers at work) have moved to Moama and he plays footy for Echuca under 18's and also for the Pioneers. Gets rid of the go home factor for Sam too:thumbsu:.

That is good news.

How about the naming co-incidence with a Ben and Sam in the 2 unrelated Reid families and especially with the other boys being sons of an ex-Bulldog.

Ben, Sam, Luke must have been the most popular names for boys 20 - 30 years ago. How many footballers and other young men in their 20s do you know who have those names ?

The pity is that C'wood get the offspring of our former players, a trend perhaps now reversing. Wearmouth, Reid, Edwards-O'Bree spring immediately to mind.
