Guess this one's all over. Think the winner of the dodgers vs Mets are going to win the World series, because I don't see either of the Yankees or guardians being much of a threat.

It was the bottom of the 3rd and they still had the game starting at 11 am.

They have it on now, not sure when they finally started showing the game.
That’s weird because I recorded game on Foxtel and started on time

Looks like Kayo didn't get the memo about the game time being moved forward.
If this ever happens you can generally find it by going to the live channels. ESPN 1 2 3 etc

I tried that and they had college football on them.

It's no big deal for me, I just wanted to watch a bit here and there.

But you would expect better while the game has started, they still had the tile saying the game starts at 11 am and when you clicked on it it said starting soon.

Lindor would have won the MVP had not been for a historic season from ohtani. He is going to come out all guns blazing to outperform ohtani and show that he is the one who deserves the MVP. The dodgers have to be very careful with him.

Dodgers signed Shohei to pitch. He's had an incredible season as a designated hitter, but once he's cleared to pitch in games, he'll be back in the rotation. I would like to see him more as a closer, though. I think that would extend his career, but I'm 99% certain that the Dodgers want him in the starting rotation at some point in the next 18 months.

He's already resumed pitching in workouts, so he should be able to go again in 2025.

The rosters for the National League Championship Series have been confirmed by the Mets and Dodgers, with game one about an hour away in Los Angeles. The Dodgers lose a key piece from their bullpen, with Alex Vesia ruled out through injury for the entirety of the NLCS, while Miguel Rojas was also left off the roster after struggling with a tear in his left adductor muscle over the last month. The Dodgers named outfielder Kevin Kiermaier and reliever Brent Honeywell Jr to take their spots on the roster, with Tommy Edman moving from the outfield to shortstop to take over from Rojas full-time.

The Mets have decided to retain infielder Luisangel Acuna in their roster ahead of veteran reliever Adam Ottavino. Acuna was initially promoted to the major league roster to fill in for the injured Francisco Lindor, and was in line to be left off the roster with second baseman Jeff McNeil cleared to return from a fracture in his right wrist. However, the Mets decided to keep Acuna as a late-game defensive substitute and pinch runner (who will most likely step in for third baseman Mark Vientos when the situation calls for it) and play McNeil as a part-time starter at second base and in right field.

The Mets are banking on converted starters David Peterson and Tylor Megill to fill the shorthanded bullpen, although Ottavino was not used by manager Carlos Mendoza in the first two rounds of the playoffs.

The Miami Marlins are reportedly considering former bench coach Luis Urueta and Guardians bench coach Craig Albernaz for their vacant manager position after Skip Schumaker was relieved of his duties at the end of the season. Urueta would be an unusual hire for the Marlins, since they fired him after the season as part of the sweeping changes to the coaching staff, training staff and clubhouse attendants. Urueta served as the interim manager for the last two games of the 2024 regular season after a family health matter forced Schumaker to miss those games. Urueta also has experience with the Diamondbacks.

Albernaz is in his first season as bench coach under rookie manager Stephen Vogt, having previously served as bullpen and catching coach for the Giants between 2019-2022, as well as in various roles with the Tampa Bay Rays after he finished his playing career in 2014. Accordingly, Albernaz has already crossed paths with Marlins President of Baseball Operations Peter Bendix, who was previously the GM at the Rays, and to assistant GM Gabe Kapler, who worked with Albernaz at the Giants.

The Padres were eliminated from the postseason over the weekend by the Dodgers, and are now planning their off-season. They will need to figure out the future of infielder Ha-Seong Kim, who is slated to be a free agent at the end of the season, while left fielder Jurickson Profar (coming off a career year) and catcher Kyle Higashioka are also free agents. Profar would like to stay in San Diego, according to comments he made to the media in the immediate aftermath of the Padres' loss to the Dodgers. Similarly, Higaoshioka, acquired by the Padres as part of the return for the Juan Soto trade, would like to remain with the Padres in the future, but he would also be looking for a pay-rise, which might force the Padres (who are close to the CBT threshold) to look elsewhere (possibly internally) for their 2025 catcher.

Losing vesia is huge, we are only down to one LHP in the bullpen. Keen to see how Dave roberts will work around that limitation.
