Player #21 - Clinton Jones

Clinton Jones is a tagger who plays for St Kilda and manages almost 5 tackles per game.

Wait, he runs hard, racks up almost 19 disposals per game (average skewed by one 39 possession game against Melbourne) and puts his head over the ball constantly. Why is he in this list?

Take a look above. This is not an uncommon occurrence. In a team languishing on the bottom of the ladder and full of youngsters, Jones was dropped to the VFL for a month (plus 2 weeks as "senior emergency") because his disposal makes baby Jesus cry. Your average Oxford St nightclub is full of people who are straighter than a Clint Jones kick.
Given the amount of % goals teams kick from turnovers, this makes Clint's admirable efforts to win the ball absolutely useless given the turnovers by foot or the decision making to kick it to players out of position who are about to be absolutely flogged by their opponent (which for the Saints is most of their list).

Oh well, a guess a young developing side like St Kilda needs senior players to set the standard on and off the training track, providing an air of professionalism so that young players have role models to...

The greener thumbs among the Bay 13 community recognize that plant as "burning dwarf", which sums up St Kilda's off season last year.
The Saints, a club with a litany of off field issues and scandals each off season, had one of their most senior players light the guy on the right in this photo:

Clinton well done on forging an AFL career despite being bereft of skill, on field nous and respect for the miniature entertainment industry, well come to the Bottom 50 and good luck wherever you end up next year.
