I'm not certain mora would be happy with this or the club depending on how many $$$$ of the salary cap he would take. If a reasonable wage could be sorted with out Freo losing any one they required due to salary cap pressure and Mora was happy with a rookie spot then good.
Bloody awful shame though for someone who showed so much & seemed such a good bloke.
Imagine if he came back as a late mature-age recruit around the age of 26-28... he'd only get a few years at top level but at least it wouldn't be a career wasted and an amazing comeback story; wouldn't even care if it wasn't at Freo.
According to the last report I read, Menzel will be available for selection in a couple of weeks

I think the club should just continue giving him 1 year contracts till he his right, unless he doesn't want that, or thinks he can't go on. Whats there to lose. He is still youngish, and as someone said could come good and 25-26 and play another four years or so. He is a high draft pick, and I would hate to see the club give up on a player picked so high that is still under 25.

He made a comment about him being ok if he continued his career somewhere else. It was his personal opinion, you know, sort of what everyone does on an internet forum. Pretty sure this whole thing is for personal opinions and you obviously have another axe to grind right now. Either you are just upset by the news Mora isn't going to make it or it is continuing from other threads we're you've been burnt in the past.

Credit to the club for looking after him - let's be honest, he's a 90% chance of being delisted, and the club would probably have every right to just refer him to local doctors. To send him overseas (which is going to be at the club's expense) to specialists when it's almost certain the club isn't going to get any direct return is pretty admirable.
I don't reckon many clubs would have done that - mostly because they wouldn't have the resources.

Hope you guys don't mind the intrusion, but many of us at Geelong watch Morabito's progress intently.He and our Menzel are of similar talent, age, and misfortune, and currently watching DM in the reserves is full of anguish. So close to the AFL comeback, but like a time-bomb for a repeat, and hence, a final injury.
I'm sorry to read that AM has a further problem, but it at least is not ligamentous.
Menzel has spent lots of time coaching juniors, and radio commentating, and if ever a player has my heart-felt support it's him. Great person from all reports, and super-talent, and we hear Morabito is very similar.
Whilst these players are optimistic about returning to play, surely they stay on their lists. I would hope and expect Morabito to be given exceptional time to come back, and stay on your list until he says it's over- which we all hope is a long way into the future.
