A New Zealand man who met accused terrorist Brenton Tarrant at a rifle range has described the moment that left him “shaken”.
The accused mosque massacre shooter was a gun club “fruit loop” who allegedly “shot like he meant it” with high powered rifles in practise with other shooters. Brenton Tarrant also allegedly made verbal rants about young skateboarders and his right to carry firearms which left one animal hunter “shaken” after spending a day shooting with the accused. But the hunting enthusiast claims nothing was done when he told police in the southern New Zealand city of Dunedin about Tarrant’s odd behaviour.

In Facebook posts obtained by news.com.au, one hunter described a shooting session between Tarrant and his friends at a remote rifle club south of Dunedin as worrying. The post, from November 2017, talks about members of the rifle club and how “one in particular had me really worried”.

It reads: “He was complaining about skateboarding kids at the uni saying if they can carry their boards then he should be allowed to carry a gun.”
A Facebook respondent in the same forum replied, “I’d make a call to the arms officer the guy sounds like a fruit loop”.
The hunter updated the post on Saturday, saying, “I’d warned the police about the rifle club where he trained … un f***ing believable.”

I was curious about the white writing on his weapons .
They referenced historic figures and battles between Muslim’s and the west for centuries.
I consider myself well read but found myself having to google names and places . He did not pick this info up on the back of a cornflakes packet and unlikely that he by himself had become versed in this history.

Someone has got in his ear I believe as reading his document it still reeks of naivety which did not match his historical knowledge.
Was he part of a group or a self motivated guy who was fed info which he lapped up, not sure but leaning towards the group at this point.

Many over social media assume he was radicalised in Australia but there may be stronger international links somewhere in the Balkans. The white writing was in the Cyrillic alphabet, the names of Serbs and Montenegrins who fought against the Ottomans 500 year rule. His soundtrack included a nationalist Serb song from the Bosnian war.

Trial will take place in NZ

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern confirmed that New Zealand will not attempt to extradite Tarrant to Australia, and that charges and the trial of Brenton Tarrant will take place in NZ.

"I don't want to go to far down that track while we're obviously in early stages. Charges have been laid, we can expect additional charges, he'll be appearing in the High Court on the 5th of April, so there's obviously a process that needs to be gone through here.

As I posted in one of the other threads on this, NZ haven't cut their military to the bone, they've cut right into it, I don't see why their intelligence services would be any different. Maybe like a lot of things, they just assume Australia will pick up the slack for them.
