Interesting.....Geelong is the only team he plays well against.

Have you been to many matches over the past few years?

Yet since going to Collingwood, he's averaged 16 touches against Geelong, and 19 overall.

Given possessions are his only real impact on a game, how could you possibly say that his best performances have been against Geelong?

Possibly you read the title wrong? Most "over"ated player not most underated! Adem Yze is coming #1 in the league for kicks and had hit more targets by foot than any other player in the league by a massive margin and all of this playing out of the backline for most of the season. You would be hard pressed finding more than a couple of better kicks of the football in the league. Adem Yze is nowhere near the most overated player in the league!

i have a perfect grip on the concept of Aussie rules football and i think voss is overrated for the way he has performed over the last 2-3 seasons.

An oxymoron if I ever I saw one.

Or is that simply moron?

There should be some form of law that prohibits Collingwood supporters from using the word overated

J. Brown.

People call him the best CHF in the league and some even rate him in the top five players this year when he's done ******** all.

He will get there, but he's not there now. People here easily get confused with the words "potential" and "performance" For the last time, they do NOT have the same meaning. Over to you Zeke...

Micheal Voss is a great player and he can still to all the things in football now like he did when he was at his peak its just that he can't do it as often because of his degenerating knee which he will have to nurse through the rest of his career. Many players are over rated and under rated because of their past years. The fact is commentators still reguard him as the best player in the competition when he may still be currently the most talented footballer he just hasn't done enough this year to warrent that tag. So in that sence commetators are over rating him. If you look at Voss's career he has been one of the best players of the past 20 years ranking equal second behind Wayne Carey and equal with Gary Ablett senior in a recent poll by The Age football writers. (Note this poll was ment to be since Leigh Matthew's retired.) Call him over-rated this year until commentators fully realise that his knee restricts him from being the best in the AFL but he has not been over rated in how good he has been in the AFL over his career. He would have won the Brownlow last year if his knee hadn't affected him and was in career best form at the beginning of last season.

Thats an absolute shocke. CHF is the most important position on the football field and without browns class and strength brisbane wouldnt have won the past 3 premierships. Wonder why brisbanehavent gone as well as usual this season??? its cus browns been missing half the season with injuries. He is a champion and is easily as good as tredrea and will be around for many years to come. you look at hawthorn for example, there biggest weak point is CHF, you chuck brown in at hawthorn and they wouldve made the finals this season cus schwabs useless 'kick it long at all costs' game plan wouldve been able to half work.

kingsleyhunter, nothin could have gotten the hawks to the finals this year. if brown was playing for hawthorn, he would still need quality delivery which atm, hawks are building on. there is no way that just that one player could turn a team around like you think he could

-voss isnt getting 25 possestions a game, he isnt near that many
-he hasnt done anything in the last 2 years from memory to warrant the way that he is talked up by the media and commentators.

i have nothing against M.Voss, IMO he is just overrated
he's not overrated just coming to the end, injuries have stopped him.....Buckleys the one whose overrated

Are people serious about Voss being overrated???

This bloke was less than half fit in the finals last year and showed what a true champion he is. He's come out this year under immense pressure (ie he'll never play again) and has shown us all he is still an awesome player.

So what if he isnt as good as he was 1996-2002? His presence out there is enough for sides to be wary of this out and out champion. Anyone who says he is overrated is jealous! Watch and drool as he holds the cup above his head in September for a 4th time!

Fitness is part of how good you are. By your own admissions Voss is not fit therefore OVERATED at the moment. When he was fit he was NOT overated....now he is.......live with it....he is still a bloody champion....but overated at the moment

 Overrated?? Abletts?? Voss'? please they are ELITE footballers dont be silly. No amount of rating could overrate what they can do with a football. Everyone mentioned here is a great or elite footballer so what the??? I think most of you have your definitions of overrated mixed up.

Let's not tarnish the names of these greats because SILLY idiotic media personal (aka Robert Walls, Patrick Smith plus many others.) OVERATE their FAVOURITES because that is their job and do it for the money. We all love footy so lets enjoy it and PRAISE those who are fantastic like MVoss RHarvey GAblettSnr WCarey. :(

Apparently a player becomes overrated once he is recognised as one of the best in the competition for a number of seasons then fails to win every match off his own boot.

tarrant by a country mile, soft and gets easy marks up the ground.

you idiot!
judging him on this season? he's missed a good 8 or 9 games due to a recurring hamstring problem. The guy is an absolute star. To even mention otherwise shows your complete ignorance, and lack of football knowledge. Just what we all expect from essendon supporters :)
