Most overrated player in the AFL currently?

In 2018 and 2019 he was pretty crap for most of the season, just like he has been this year, yet the commentators still talk him up like he's playing a blinder every time he gets near the ball. On Friday night's game against GWS, Dusty's first half was an absolute shocker but Bruce McAvaney still chimes in at half time with "Dusty's been good!"

The excuse I see from Richmond supporters every time he has a bad game is "he's injured", or "he's carrying something". If he's injured then why don't they rest him and give him a chance to recover properly so he can get back to his best form? Is Dustin Martin the one player in the league who plays perpetually injured because they can't afford him to miss one or two games for the sake of getting him right? It makes no sense. He literally has the highest turnover rate in the AFL and people still talk about him like he's one of the best players in the league. He's the defintion of overrated.
why comment when you clearly didnt watch him in 2018 or 2019

What about Patrick Cripps? Are the media going to talk about how awful he’s been yet? Or is Fyfe the only star that is allowed to be criticised?

Cripps had a chance to establish himself as the game’s greatest player and has completely bombed. He is this season’s biggest disappointment.

Interestingly, the Blues have looked better with Cripps doing less. Speaks to the idea of Cripps 'Heroball' not really translating to winning footy.

Matt Crouch easily

He Isn't even rated that much but still overrated. Have a look at his man at stoppages, it’s normally the oppo player who get the clearance. only averaging 2.5 tackles a game as in inside mid in a struggling team. Not prepared to beat his player first rather than get a stat.

Illegal? Many try to emulate but fail miserably. Hasn’t stopped him winning a Brownlow and Two Norm Smith medals. Read it. and weep Petracca Scully and Trengove. What could have been hey?
He literally pushes off by the throat and face, it's a high fend that never gets called.

Take off the yellow and black coloured glasses.

Overrated to most probably means receive an unwarranted amount of praise from the media and commentators.

The way Max King gets talked up makes me roll my eyes. Let the kid settle in before blowing smoke up his bum all game.

He is quoted as saying he ducked into it.

Patrick Cripps the midfielder is great but the constant fawning over him being a resting forward target because of his size is ridiculous, he'd need to improve a bit to even be an average forward target.

Reminds me of the commentary fuss when Chris Judd would go forward at Carlton, when he could barely lift his arms above his mummified shoulders, and rarely ever took an overhead mark or kicked a goal when there.

Honestly, Friday's game was one of the better Dusty performances since 2017.

Or the Dangerfield/Bont commentary : "Stick him forward and watch him kick 50 a year!"

Have these people watched modern footy? Being a forward is quite difficult these days. They are part time forwards who can take the odd grab.

Yes, and it was still a pretty ordinary effort, which should tell you something. His third quarter was okay with those 2 goals. He was mostly rubbish for the rest of the game. Had an absolute stinker first half with no impact on the game, and the worst disposal efficiency for Richmond. The fact that Bruce said he was good at half time, speaks volumes about his overratedness. I'm not sure what Dusty actually has to do in order for the commentators to admit he's having a stinker. Maybe if he only gets two possessions and deliberately kicks both of them to the opposition, they'll say it wasn't his day?

Funny you say that because after his game today i got a fun reminder of what a star he is
The question is most overrated player. He's a 9 disposal player. He's a decent ruckman, good player, but not the superstar player the media pump him up to be. That Adelaide bloke ran him off his feet the other week.

Weak trolling effort.
