I reckon the 2006 Dockers and 2005/6 Crows were overrated.
Freo won their last 9 and their fans maintain they had our measure but they came up short against Sydney and Adelaide, so even if they were good enough to beat us in the finals they weren't good enough to beat anyone else of note.
Neil Craig's 'Crowbots' killed most sides in the H&A season and had Sydney's measure but always struggled against us. We rolled them in the 2005 PF at Subi, beat them in Adelaide then thrashed them in Perth in 2006 then overran them in the 2006 PF in Adelaide. 4 in a row and 2/2 in finals.
Sydney and West Coast were the only two teams to grind out finals wins against teams that didn't let them play on their terms (ie each other) and were rightfully the only two teams to win flags.

I think Gold Coast are a tad bit overrated at the moment. I sill think GWS is the team with more potential and the take over may start this year. North have performed decently enough against the top sides to be rated as a chance. Made the prelim last year too.
2006 Crows were definitely not overrated. They were good.

2013 Finals to be honest saw a lot of Senior Carlton players play an Inexperienced Tigers outfit, virgins to finals football really, even Mick vs Dimma saw a veteran coach who has been their before against a first timer coach in finals
was it really a fluke? No. Tigers fans should be happy getting to finals and getting more experienced each year and get over that 2013 loss. Same thing happened to us in 09, 10 finals loosing close games in elimination finals

Why couldn't they beat West Coast?
Don't remember this quite well, but didn't they have injuries at the back end of the season?
West Coast were our bogey side. If we vs'ed any other team we would have another flag.

I didn't say it was the blues fault. I was merely saying that the 9 or so wins you got that year was well below what Carlton fans/and the wider public expected in output when MM joined the club. I do agree with your analysis of the final though.

That's a piss weak excuse and the reason the team was overrated.
I reckon we wouldn't have minded a finals series without playing bastard Sydney but thems the breaks, you have to beat the best to be the best.

Do non-Richmond supporters even rate Richmond though? Surely the overrating needs to come from neutrals too?
