It's time to start the Mount Buller Demons Awards Night for Season 17.

What a fun season it was. There were plenty of wins and plenty of highs, and despite the disappointing end to the season, it was one we can be proud of, besting all teams in the league for most of the year.

Time to start the easiest award to hand out - the cats2rise Medal. This one goes to our leading goalkicker for the season, named after someone prolific in front of the sticks in cats2rise. However, more so was the player taking home this award after a stellar season. He did enough to lead the goalkicking league-wide for a fair share of the season before finishing second in the Alfie. 79 goals for the year is an outstanding effort. Congratulations to cooney !

Next up, the best first year player.

This award had a few candidates with the club bringing in plenty of players into the league before the start of the season. However, one stood out. And he didn't fit into this group. Joining in round 13, this player burst onto the scene becoming a presence in match threads and even around the board, pushing into the midfield and making sure his opponents remembered his name.

And what was his name? It was Modbury_Hawk_12 . Well done!

The next award is the Mount Buller Demons' best defender.

In a defence that grew considerably tight throughout the middle of the season there was a number of candidates that threw their name in the running, such was the defensive effort of our entire back six. But there was one name who stood there every week between the goal posts – all four of them, possibly at both ends – manned up against the full forward. No longer conceding eight goals every week with some vital shut-down jobs was this season's best defender, Logger . Congratulations!

Finally, the Mount Buller Demons Coaches Award.

*Cranium strips off clothes and runs out of the presentation to a standing ovation*

Eth: Ah, shit...can someone run out to the snow cone fields?! He's probably gone skinny-dipping in there again, I don't want him ruining another batch!

Anyway, he left this envelope...yep, it's written down. This season's coaches award goes to a player who proved to be a big hand on and off the field. His diligence in helping to keep this club running was fantastic and I look forward to his service yet again next season.
