What a great start to the season we had over the first four rounds! But it was time for things to start getting a little more real, as we hosted the Wonders in the battle for the Foundation Cup at the Snow Dome.

It was a pretty big spamathon – 91 pages of banter that was prolonged by a SIM output that took 2 hours to post. ClarkeM hadn’t decided that he liked the Sweet F.A. again at this point, so the heat was brought by Elton Johns Wig and Bloodied52 for the Wonders. It became one of the most active but enjoyable threads I’ve seen in my time in the SFA.

For us, the thread was blessed by a whole load of Headless – 222 of the best banter posts imaginable. For my own part, I was well pleased with this meme relating to Ant Bear stealing U2tigers spot in the All-SFA team…

The game itself was a doozy – one for the ages. The Wonders started strongly, but we pulled back and remained within a goal at both HT and 3QT. The last quarter was a shootout, however the Wonders managed to kick one extra goal and ran out 6-point winners in the end. I think I heard Tarks cry.

We had some real stars on the field Tarkyn_24 up forward was epic, while _Cayz_ , Proper Gander and Yakker controlled the midfield.

Coming into round 8, we were sitting pretty at 5-2, and the world appeared to be our oyster. We were back at the Snow Dome again, and this time we hosted the Swamprats (led by philreich and SarahSmiles).

The match thread was pretty friendly, with topics ranging from Ben Reid to telling NaturalDisaster to **** off. The topic of Callums_Guns' wife being pregnant was raised, and The Jesus brought some solid philreich counters to the table…



The match was an absolute belter for us – we jumped the Rats early and just kept piling the goals on after that. In the end, it was an easy 58-point win, with standout performances from Proper Gander, Yakker, Callums_Guns and DemonJim. Up forward, the goals were shared around, which would no doubt have given Tarks the shits.

Playing the Bombers always means a busy match thread, and Round 10 at Abdu Prison was no exception. There was a good mix of aggro, humour and ellipses, with WaynesWorld19, Santoz and Antonio BlueVein leading the charge for the Bombers.

For us, Callums_Guns was in imposing form, while The Jesus also rose to the challenge. As the talk turned to correcting punctuation, Proper Gander stepped up too…



We took our match thread momentum into the game itself, leading by almost three goals at half time. However, we know the SIM is a fickle beast, so it was totally unsurprising to see the Bombers hit back in the third quarter. Eventually, and despite strong work from Callums_Guns , Tarkyn_24, The Jesus and cats2rise, we were bettered by 16 points.

We seem to regularly play the Roys after an exhausting match thread against the Bombers, and our Qooty performance seems to take a hit as well. Mobbs, I Dont Care and TedDougChris were great opponents, with a style of banter that is proven to work every time.

The risk was always that things were going to be a bit flat…



In spite of the odds against us, I was excited to see sausageroll back in form, while cooney , Callums_Guns and Tarkyn_24 got stuck into the Roys as well.

The match of Qooty never looked good for us from the very beginning, with the Roys leading by 2 goals at quarter time, 3 goals at half time and 4 goals at three quarter time. They eventually got us by 3 goals, in what was a pretty dour and low-scoring tussle.

Yakker, Proper Gander and Callums_Guns put in very solid performances in what was a tough match for the team.

We are a very fortunate Qooty club in that we have generous contributors across the board. Be they in the Leadership Group, involved in media or part of our team thread and match threads, our club is incredibly well-represented.

I’d like to take the opportunity to thank each and every Demon for bringing their best to the table this season, and look forward to the good times rolling on. Stats tell us that we were one of the most active posting units in the league, but I rate our quality vastly above our activity, so all-in-all we’re in a good place.

This next award seeks to recognise the best clubman for the season, and is awarded by our lovely, but very old and weird coach (paging Richard_Cranium).

I couldn’t manage to rouse him for last season’s B&F, but this season I asked the nurses to cut back on his meds for a little while so he’d be frisky enough to decide on a winner and present the award.

It’s been another great season of chatting up the Snow Bunnies and getting into a bit of strife down at the local RSL. I don’t think I’ve managed to enjoy this level of success with the birds since I was 19 and basically had a permanent boner for a year and a half.

Did we win the flag?

Anyway, what am I here for again? Where’s my glasses.

Oh yeah, I’m supposed to be presenting an award of some sort.

Look, I went through the team list because I don’t really remember any of you, and one name stood out to me above the others. Not only because I think I’ve actually seen the name before, but also because he isn’t some leadership group w***er and seems to get around the boys a lot. I like that in a guy.

He rocks up every single week and flies the flag for the club.
