Pulp Fiction. American Psycho.
I didn't like American Psycho the first time I saw it (in the cinema no less) as I'd just read the book, possibly for the 2nd or 3rd time. Just thought it was really confusing and dis-jointed (no pun intended). Felt for the other cinema goers who hadn't read it.

Years later I watched it again, and enjoyed it. Go figure.
LA Confidential was the same for me, much for the same reason.

Inception was a beautifully made movie with a story I didn't care for and a musical score that was very over rated. I have it as a deluded popcorn flick.

Hans Zimmer as a whole has been down for a while. Has good from grand themes and a pieces with memorable riffs to good but ultimately forgetable tension builders that can't really be listened to on their own merit.

Zimmers work on The Thin Red Line was fantastic. Dark Knight and Rises was very good too

The last two though lack real memorability. Work great in the movie but not on it's own. Zimmer is a long way from Gladiator, Lion King, Pirates of the Caribbean, even Days of Thunder has a great score full of memorable cues. I don't think it's him but rather the work Nolan gets him to do for the film.

I disagree they lack memorability. Jokers theme is fantastic. Not something you would listen to on its own as you said but within the movie its perfect. Not sure they should be judged as a solo listen imo.

Blade Runner - Watched this for the first time recently, not sure why it's considered a classic.
There Will Be Blood - Too long & boring.

Blade Runner was awful, i don't get it either, how its considered a classic....

There Will Be Blood gets a nod because of the great acting by the main character and the overall story, but yes, it can be very dull to sit through.

No, not within the movie, but I can listen to so many Zimmer scores where the music works on its own, but none are from Nolan films.

Seth Rogan comedies, walked out on the last one I went to, can't recall which it was, might have been Bad Neighbours, won't again watch anything he's trying to be funny in.

Yeah kinda agree with this- I dont mind Knocked Up tho.

And he was great in Freaks and Geeks.

I think he's just another that was very funny early on but like most, lost his edge along the way. I was probably being a bit unfair singling him out as I find almost all American comedies awful & I guess I am just not their target audience as someone must be watching them given they keep pumping the same formulaic BS out.

Will Ferrel is on my ban list personally. Can't ****en stand the guy.

I will always love Seth due to FnGs

Give the Big Sick a go. You won't be disappointed.

2001 - space odyssey

Anything with Chevy Chase. Never got the raving about the Dumb and Dumber or Austiin Powers movies either.

You haven't seen GoldenEye???

Goldeneye is my favorite Bond by far. It's a pity the rest of the Pierce Brosnan Bonds weren't anywhere near as good because he was my favorite Bond

My favorite of the earlier Bonds are From Russia With Love and Goldfinger with Sean Connery.

I don't really like any of the ultra-cheesy Roger Moore Bonds.

FOr some reason I've never gotten around to seeing either of the Timothy Dalton Bond movies from the 80s but I will one day. I've heard mixed things about them.

Casino Royale was pretty good. Quantam of Solace was terrible and is universally hated. Skyfall is a really interesting movie but doesn't feel like a Bond movie and I really didn't like Spectre at all. I hope Craig moves on from Bond and we get a new actor for the next one. Bourne does Bourne much better than Bond so I'd love to see Bond get back to something a bit more fun and not so dark and for goodness sake bring back the fun gadgets!

Dalton never had a fair run at it. Living Daylights is good but the movie was just about written before he was cast, so was basically another Moore film that the next actor was designed to slot in to (Brosnan was wanted by stuck in another contact). Still quite good IMO.

License To Kill isn't really a Bond as much as a regular 80s action flick, not sure how it ended up that way, but I still enjoy it heaps, see why others don't however.

Goldeneye was supposed to his first proper Bond but when the franchise went on hiatus he left. No coincidence it is one of the best and easily Brosnan's best.

Anyway, I think World Is Not Enough was good too and worth a positive mention.

My parents loved the Moore Bonds and watched them regularly but I never got the appeal. Then in the early 90s I saw The Living Daylights and went yes! I get it now. So that and License to Kill I hold in higher regard than most.

Don't like ET, Drive, Star Trek into Darkness, or Close Encounters

Into Darkness is a dog's breakfast. I was surprised to see it rated so highly on metacritic. Beyond is a far superior film.

My biggest issue is the undercurrent Khan remake and then that cope out reversal of roles ending. What ****ing shit! I can't recall any of positives before all that happened as it stuck in my mind so heavily. I can only assume the majority of raters didn't watch the original films. Haven't seen Beyond yet.
