Haha, Rockers, the watering hole of Navy sailors for decades.

The place where a sailor could have a beer, chatting with his mates while a random chick gave headjobs under the tables for $5.
I used to work around the corner years back.

Wooly Bay was our regular Friday night after work drinks venue.

Glad the bartender obvs didn't work there back then, many had a dip in the secretarial pool every week there.

It's not just that some players overstepped the mark.
It's that some of the players dressed up in a way that is fairly benign (e.g. Idun as Django) and they are also copping penalties.

SA stuff? Absolutely give them some sort of punishment (suspension from H&A games does seem very harsh). Some of the other things seem like the AFL is going too far.

This from an organization that had turned a blind eye to stars eye gouging, elbowing, punching, etc.

There's zero sense of proportionality here.
You’re assuming that’s all Idun did. The suspensions seem on the harsher side, but that probably let’s you know how bad the skit was.

The MRP has nothing to do with this.

So what does the new "dill" do now? Chaperones to be appointed for "Mad Monday" and " Wacky Wednesday" nights? This is insane beyond belief, they might as well ban any post season get togethers and be done with all social activities that might end up being "fun" in a private place. The world is a mad place and it just got madder!

Then why are they fining players for dressing up as famous movie characters?

From what I've read Connor Idun and Lachie Whitfield weren't punished for re-enacting a scene from the movie Django Unchained but for failing to display leadership in stopping the other skits. Either way, it's bullshit.

One in all in type situation. Once the AFL were drawn in to investigate, they had to act. If it was only movie characters and Twin Towers, I believe the AFL couldn't of looked at the incident and therefore was not obliged to act.

That makes no sense. Are we lead to believe there were no other players in costumes? That the party was only attended by under a quarter of the list?

Here's the sole reason the AFL threw a tantrum.

They can't have anyone upsetting their self-induced White Elephant, the AFLW.

The AFL's almost pathological desire to make this competition relevant is amazing.

Yet the AFLW players never address the DV of same sex couples though.

Something they love to get a story out there in the media on who is dating who.

If only the AFL was as strict with their drug policy where offenders actually break the law when they take drugs.

Multiple times on some occasions.

Joke of a corporation.
The blame for that solely sits with the AFLPA with regard to recreational/illicit drugs. They watered it down to a slap with a wet lettuce leaf.

yes the DV rate between the 2 different Same-sex couple pairings makes interesting viewing...but runs counter to the cultural narrative so its not talked about.

Its not crime and punishment.

The AFL is doing image management and PR.

They don’t want to be associated with this stuff and are making a statement. End of story.

I would take it much further than that.

Its not fairly benign its not wrong in any way. What is outrageously wrong is a group of people, who I will assume are mainly white, have seen themselves fit to judge a black mans actions in depicting a scene from a popular movie themed on slavery.

The AFL need to be called out on this significant error of judgement.

Doesn't matter. A white man like Dillon doesnt have the right to judge a black mans skit around slavery. Its culturally wrong.
