It's their fault for doing nothing wrong?

That's a new one.
Trivialising rape is a line I don’t think should be crossed personally but that’s just me

are we once again suggesting reenacting rape isn't worthy of criticism?
Criticism =/= Reporting. No one is saying the venue shouldn't have told the GWS players to pull their head in or leave if they had an issue with it. The issue is waiting till after the players had left and instead of addressing the issue personally, reporting the issue to the AFL knowing that the individuals concerned will have no natural justice, opportunity to respond or apologise.

Yeah and that's the thing, let's say it's true that the only one to complain was the person who saw it later on CCTV. Perhaps they are a victim of sexual assault.

We all love freedom. Freedom of expression, freedom of association, all that stuff is really good and important.

At the same time, how hard is it, seriously, to just.....

Don't be a dick.

Isn’t that why the AFL investigated the incident?

They didn’t just take the staff members word at face value
They would of reviewed the footage and interviewed the players as well

I just rewatched the footage of Fev carrying the dildo. I wasn't there but I'm horrified. Anyone got the AFL's number? Never too late to lodge a complaint right

100% 17 other clubs have had mad Mondays/ silly weds or whatever day they have it on and managed to avoid controversy and I’m sure they all had plenty of piss and probably pushed the boundaries on acceptable behaviour

I’ve been on my fair share of footy and cricket trips and had a great time

The GWS players pushed the boundaries and have been caught out, they are not the victims they just need to cop it sweet and accept the punishments

People are allowed to be idiots if they want, I mean who the hell do these people think they are and regulate satire and dumb jokes and being foolish - just be law abiding.

Once reported the result was inevitable - once it became public it hurts the AFL's image. If it wasn't public it wouldn't have. It's like accusing the young woman in Salem who spurned your advances to be a witch. Fate acompli. The mechanism moves from there.

Ask a survivor of rape or child abuse, if they think it's funny if someone simulated it in front of them?

As you said, the person who reported it could have been a victim of, or knows someone who was. It could have triggered a reaction.

None of us know anything about that person. Rather than give the benefit of the doubt, people prefer to be outraged.

Pretty sure CCTV not being used as intended here. Nothing illegal took place.

The whole thing was handled in a way to ensure the players each got a chance to respond and apologise. Why are we making things up?

It doesn't matter where they did it, it would still be innapropriate and worth critisizing. If they had done it in an actual private venue (i.e a player's house) it would still be innapropriate but we probably would never have heard about it.

So the players behaved in a manner that could of hurt the AFL’s image, and have all signed contracts with clauses surrounding that kind of behaviour

But the players shouldn’t face accountability for knowing acting in such a way?

Except that's not what happened here. The first anyone heard about it was after the AFL had finished their investigation and had submitted reccomendation for punishments.

They didn't get a chance to respond to apologise, they got a chance to be punished. The AFL is a witch hunt. They were all guilty immediately because the AFL is run by people with negative moral fiber in Andrew Dillon, Laura Kane and other sycophantic psychopaths.

It’s not a criminal fine

It’s to do with behaviour clause’s in the contracts the players have signed

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes

Yeah they are I agree.

I just don't understand all of the people who get upset and spend so much energy defending their right to be that way. Then they get upset when people call it out, holding a mirror up to their dickish behaviour. And wonder why the world is against them and shit.

It's a self awareness thing more than anything I suppose.

Why is it different?

They werent there. It didnt target them. They saw it after the fact and were unhappy with what they saw.
If you can’t see the difference between holding a dildo (10 years ago) and a skit surrounding sexual assault I don’t think we have anything worth discussing

Correct. That's your view.

Some people have no lines.

Sense of humour seems to be one of the innate human traits that can't be taught.
Yes
But the AFL have lines, the players agreed to behave within these lines when they signed a contracts

And the players seemingly crossed them and are now getting punished by the AFL for doing so

And here showeth the hypocrisy of the modern muddled mind. You are right, society tries to tell us these days that pride parades with naked men with dog masks and their **** out and women walking around with strap-ons on are totally normal, even in the vicinity of children and members of the public going about their day, is totally normal and a part of accepted society because they're just "expressing themselves", but making a dark joke about an insensitive subject is inappropriate. And people wonder why there is a culture clash.
