TIMELINE

Thursday 16 February:
Service revolver obtained for user pays event. Was stored at mother's as per regulations.

Sunday 19 February: User pays event.

Monday 20 February: The murders at Baird's Paddington rental.

Monday 19 February: Police have alleged gunshots were heard from a house in Paddington, Sydney in the morning. Four minutes after the first shots were fired there was a 000 call made from Jessie's phone around 9.45am, but it disconnected. Police said there was "no communication" during that call.

Monday evening: Police have alleged Lamarre-Condon hired a white Hiace van from Sydney Airport.

Tuesday 20 February: Police have alleged that partial admissions were made by Lamarre-Condon to an acquaintance of having been involved in the death of two individuals.

Service revolver was returned to Balmain & later transferred to original storage.

Wednesday 21 February: Bloodied clothing belonging to both victims and an $8000 watch were found in a skip bin in the southern Sydney suburb of Cronulla. Police launch a missing persons investigation and the homicide unit is notified

Later same Wednesday: Police have alleged Lamarre-Condon attended the Bungonia area with an acquaintance who police believed assisted him in purchasing an angle grinder and padlock from a local hardware store in that area, before driving to a rural property in Bungonia.

Police said the "small" angle grinder was used to sever a padlock from the gate of that particular rural property and then that padlock was replaced with a padlock purchased from the hardware store.

The acquaintance was left at the top of the property for 30 minutes. The accused disappeared for that period in the Hiace van, returning to pick up the acquaintance and then they returned to Sydney later that afternoon. Police said the acquaintance was assisting them in their inquiries, that she is not a suspect, and they believe she was an "innocent agent".

Wednesday 11pm: Police have said that evening, weights were purchased from a department store by the accused and it is believed that the accused returned to that rural property overnight and during that evening, having also acquired two torches from the acquaintance.

Thursday 22 February: Police have alleged they can place the accused leaving the Bungonia area again at 4.30am. "It would appear that the accused has remained in the city area, still in control of the white Hiace van, before attending a further acquaintance's premises in the Newcastle area and without fully disclosing any criminality, asked access to a hose to clean that van," Hudson said.

Friday 23 February: At 10.39am, Lamarre-Condon presents himself at Bondi Police Station where he was arrested and subsequently charged.

If Lamarre was doing that, messing up the house leading up to the murders, apart from the obvious psychological impact that would have had on Baird...it also makes you wonder how long he had this planned for.

Particularly considering the texts he sent after the murders to Baird's housemates, pretending to be Jesse & telling them he was moving to Perth, asking them to leave the furniture out, etc.

What a total sicko.
Maybe once he realised Baird never would want him.

But he seems like one of these delusional weirdos who always hold onto the hope that they’re going to win over the person they’re obsessed with.

Sadly like numerous domestic violence cases this is yet another with plenty of bad warning signs and nobody did anything about it. The police officer element no doubt had an impact.

The media also plays a part with their disgraceful reporting on domestic violence cases. I’ve lost count of the amount of times they release absurd headlines making out the killer just suddenly snapped despite a clear pattern of behaviour.

Things will never change while we as a society keep turning a blind eye to the warning signs of this sort of thing.

I doubt they negotiated with a killer who confessed. They didn’t need anymore evidence.

At best it would have been false promises

They may not have needed the bodies for a conviction but the families would want them found and given the police had been looking unsuccessfully, they may have offered him a deal for them.

Alternatively he may have just finally cracked. Lots of keyboard psychologists on here but the fact that he didn't immediately confess doesn't make him Hannibal Lecter having fun toying with the cops. For some people who commit these crimes (even premeditated) it can take time to really accept what you've done and realise the right course of action. People can regret even crimes they've planned. My own keyboard psychoanalysis is it probably turned out to be a bigger job than he anticipated and he became overwhelmed - hence the shitty effort at covering it up.

What kind of lawyer puts their hand up to act in this campaigners defense.
Worth mentioning that a lawyer's role is not necessarily to get a defendant off but to provide efficiency in the legal process. Of course, they have an obligation to get the best outcome for their client but if the evidence is overwhelming, part of their role is to talk sense into the defendant so as to not waste everyone's time and money.

And to ensure that their client's rights aren't trampled over in the rush to punish a horrendous crime.

Easy for me to say from my armchair, but given he police officer and seemingly had some pre-planning involved, he's been incredibly dumb with how it all unfolded and then how he's gone about trying to cover it all up. You'd think if it was premeditated and knowing what he should know with inside knowledge he'd have gone about it a bit smarter than your regular crim.
Doesn’t shock me at all to be honest.

He’s seemingly bluffed his way into the police force or his connections got him in.

He seems like one of those typical obsessive lonely weirdos that you may meet at some point. Completely delusional, incapable of understanding why their obsessive behaviour turns people away and pretty much just dumb as a rock.

Wouldn’t be surprised to hear that his parents enabled his delusions about himself.

Appears he was terribly suited to being a police officer. Going to be interesting to see NSW police force try dance around this.

Can’t wait to hear what wildly insensitive and deplorable shit we hear from the corrupt NSW police force next.

So far we’ve got crime of passion combined with making out that the killer was an ex partner of Baird despite all sorts of evidence proving otherwise. Did these fools even bother to interview anyone properly?

We’ve also got the commissioner with her haters gonna hate comment. Yes that’s right. Two people have been heinously murdered and the commissioner is out here dropping song lyrics like it’s all a big laugh.

Then today they thanked the accused for them being able to find the bodies along with saying both victims lived a good life.

What the actual **** is wrong with these ghouls?

Hope he is prosecuted to the fullest extent possible.

Channel 9 scripting a new Underbelly as we discuss this.
We haven’t seen Underbelly: Painters & Dockers yet.

No way known we’ll see this creep show before that.

Yes. All NSW Police are corrupt.

Great synopsis.

Would read again.

Never said all NSW police are corrupt.

Learn to read better.

Plenty of corruption in the NSW police force.
“Can’t wait to hear what wildly insensitive and deplorable s**t we hear from the corrupt NSW police force next”.

There.

That’s where you said it.

Sounds like someone’s in the police force
Ex.

20 years out.

Have referenced it here recently.

You’ll never ever know what it’s like to go to work (assuming you have a job?) and not be guaranteed to come home at the end of it.

Just sit there at your keyboard and label 15,000 people corrupt because you don’t like what one person has to say.

You’re the man mate.

An absolute god among mortals.

Now shout yourself some coconut water yoghurt and enjoy your victory on the interwebs.

You stud you.

Oh don’t worry. It’s not just what the one lady is saying.

Plenty of corrupt shit in the NSW police force, just like there has been in the Victorian force.

Nice rant though. Get it all out, champ.

Also worth mentioning is that after talking to his lawyer he then assisted the Police in directing them to the bodies.
The lawyer would have recommended that he did that, for his own good and for the good of the families concerned.
It was not a deal with the Police or the DPP.
This lawyer was obviously pivotal in acheiving a better outcome for all including the public purse.

In the past? Absolutely?

We (NSWPOL) wore our “Best force a money could buy” badge with flipping pride.

World leaders at it.

But that was a totally different era.

Not now.

Impossible now to have widespread “corruption”.

That’s why the streets are awash with germs.

Give me the 21 Division & Rogerson days over what we have now.

Interesting that you say “has been” in reference to VICPOL.

That mean they are entirely free from corruption now???

The worst thing about prison is the cockroaches.

They’re flipping everywhere.

And I’m not talking about your cellmate.
