Re: Murray Football League

Yeh Clayton mitchell and tomy higgins.. great blokes... Moama will be an awesome club to play for and they are an awesome bunch of blokes aswell. you obviously dont know any of the blokes at the club so you should shut your mouth...

Yeah Clayton Mitchell is Lovett - Murray brother & I saw Clayton kick 21 goals in the Diamond Valley League' Div1!! & thats pretty good considering he hadda prostetic leg!!

Re: Murray Football League

Hey Anyone, How are the No.'s been @ training around the traps in the Murray League I heard Mulwala struggling with numbers any truth to that!!

Re: Murray Football League

Chris Eddy may be playin for lancaster not moama now....not sure why...may have to do with $$$??!! And Rumba boys havent actually signed yet...

Eddy signed as assitant coach at lancaster due to shifting to the town and to minimise travelling time to work, i'd doubt money had anything to do with it.

Re: Murray Football League

lachlan whitehead will be a force to be reckoned with this year played 3rds last year n will dominate 1sts .. n e thoughts on him???????

soft, outside sheep dog, plays like a millionair when he's got the ball, very overrated i would of thought he would struggle for a regular senior game?

well his staying out at congupna to play when he could of come into town n played 3rds for a shepp team so he must gonna be playing 1sts cos if ya not gonna get a regular game in 1sts n ya playin 2nds all year thats just a waste of a year

Re: Murray Football League

Almost a please will anyone take me. I mean if the bloke could bag you a ton and win you a premiership good luck, but at what cost to club morale???? He'd probably only play four or five games in the comp and then proclaim that he was too good ala when he signed with the Griffith Swans in 06! It would be a risky proposition but again could bag you a flag if he were to see out the season? Will be interested to see how this one progresses.

2 Ky players at Gig training tonight said he was at there training last night and signed with them,

Re: Murray Football League

Drugs in country footy. Is there an issue that needs to be address?

Have a few of the Hawk boys been smokin Eccy's ? I think you'll find society in general has the drug problem , booze included . And if the lads want a flag they'll stay off it i guess . I did hear a story about Nutter O'neill doing up a fake document on random drug tests , and while the president read it out he scoped the room to see who was quaking in their boots .

Re: Murray Football League

Hey Homer1 can you fill us in on why Andy May wasn't allowed to train with Deni last year (see below highlighted). Thought that you'd be happy to have him train then you could spend the rest of the year trying to get him to come back this year.

May is geared up for a big year

Nathan Holahan

Deniliquin Rovers' star recruit Andrew May is looking forward to his first season in Picola District Football League.
The 24-year-old said he's glad he'll be playing under Roos coach Josh Bode.
``Bodey seems like a great coach. He really knows how to speak to his players,'' May said.
``I just hope I can produce a good year myself and hopefully get through injury-free.
``We've got a great side and if we make the finals we'll be capable of anything.''
Football finals aren't anything new to May.
The star on-baller played in the Deniliquin Rams' 2002-04 flags, as well as Balranald's premiership in 2006.
May missed the Rams' 2001 grand final after breaking his collarbone in a semi-final.
The Rams' best and fairest winner also played in Balranald's losing Central Murray Football League Grand Final to Tooleybuc-Manangatang last season.
May joins former Finley defender Marc Braybon at the Rovers.
``I wasn't allowed to train with the Rams so Bodey said I should go down there (Memorial Park). That's what first got me involved with the club,'' May said.
``I haven't spoken to him (Bode) about what my main role will be this season.
``I just know I'll be used on-ball to provide a bit more pace in the centre.''
The Roos bowed out of the Picola District Football League finals after going down to Shepparton East by seven points in the second elimination final last year. It was the first time the senior side had made the finals since 2003, before that it was 1996.

Ouch! That's why you should never burn your bridges with local players as you never know when the heart will bring them back (and probably a bigger ego seeing they went off for coin!). Considering what he's done, overpriced for a bloke who has built a reputation playing MFL footy!

Trying to nut it out dropthesirenAcky! Rumors going around that a few of the boys are using recreational stuff. A couple of more serious allegations that the club is working at finding out more info on. We're going to try and hit it on the head front on rather than sweeping it under the carpet. The principles Byso is trying to instill in the boys goes totally against this way of life so we'll probably give players involved, not matter who they are, two options: To seek some help to get off the gear, with the club's assistance or to piss off to another club where that type of behaviour is considered acceptable, which according to reports are becoming a majority! Regarding the more serious allegations, if there found to be true, those players are gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:mad::mad: Don't need that crap floating around if you going to build a successful club and quality people!

Yeh, interesting, um believe it was a commitee decision whilst he was playing with Balranald, majority vote.

Only speculating, but I work with a bloke who USED TO play at Nathalia. He still kepps an eye on how there traveling, and apparently they "may not have a good club culture, but they've got a winning one".
He says it's (drugs) pretty rife over there.

ha ha that is a true story, i was in the thirds at the time and did the pre season training with the seniors, everyone was a bit amused by it and couldnt understand why the vcfl would want to test country footballers for performance enhancing or recreational drugs.
The majority of the lockington boys at that time were dairy farmers or your typical country blokes who would have known "crack" as your arse showing and 'speed' as a movie starring sandra bullock.
maybe they thought the boys were juiced up on colostrum from the abundance of milk.

It is always good to hear from a true authority on a subject. Thanks for your input on the drugs in sport issue, DTS Acky. Or are we calling you Schapelle now? Heard you became quite good friends with a policeman's beagle on the long weekend....

This person who USED to play over at Nathalia, does he have a name? Pretty easy to say things if they don't supply a name but it takes guts if they supply names and their own name so that they can stand up to scrutiny. So what i am saying, unless people are strong enough to name names, keep it to themselves. How come this person use to play there and still not there? Not good enough,so he has to bag a successful club.
