Re: Murray Football League - Part 3

Rovers will never beat us.
but does anyone know why thewy dont play it in deni?
deoes it have to be in barooga?

:thumbsu: Cheers :thumbsu:

haha, this is football we are talking about, the greatest leveller of all time.
Both teams at full strength, yeh Rams should win, but stranger things have happened.
I doubt very much that Rovers will be full strength and we will be no where near full strength at this early stage of the season, however should be a fun night. ;)

Haven't heard to much about the cats as yet, last i heard which was 2 weeks ago was the new coach wasn't even in town yet!

Re: Murray Football League - Part 3

I heard last night that Matt Byers will be playing the last 8 games of the season for Barooga and they have signed Matt Chapman from the Shepp Bears.
Also Froggy Bartlett from Deni is having a crack at SANFL so will be a big loss for Deni. Deni has signed a relation to the coach (Parsons) who played alot of WAFL footy, unsure of details...maybe Homer can fill us all in...

Could be Craig Parsons? He was a local Lad to the area.
I can't see Byers doing that.
Has Chapman actually signed with Barooga? Obviously he had a great crack at Bendigo Bombers then. The Toc - Barooga game will be one to watch then with Luke surely to match up on Matt

MFL Rams flock
given boost
ASHLEY PARSONS JOINS UNCLE AT DENILIQUIN

Ashley Parsons
Deniliquin has landed
a potentialMurray Football
League star with
former WAFL player
Ashley Parsons returning
to home state NSW
for the coming season.
The Rams were not
anticipating a big season
of movement on
the recruiting front, but
the nephew of coach
Gary Parsons coming
into the fold will boost
their finals ambitions.
Parsons played Avon
Football Association in
country Western Australia
last year in a
runner-up season with
Northam Railways.
In the eight years
prior he had a 41-game
seniorWAFL career with
two seasons at Subiaco
and five with Perth.
The 29-year-old midfielder
won a Subiaco
reserves best and
fairest in one of his
seasons with the Lions.
Born and bred in Balranald,
Parsons played
for Robinvale in the
Sunraysia league before
moving west.
Parsons said he was
happy to have his
nephew in the fold.
The Rams won nine
games and lost nine
last season to finish
seventh.
‘‘He’s an on-baller
that’s versatile,’’
Parsons said of his
184 cm tall nephew.
‘‘He’s pretty close to
his family and and we
knew he was looking to
come back.
‘‘We’d expect that he
be amongst it and playing
a good standard,
having that WAFL
experience.’’
Parsons said the
main emphasis at
Deniliquin this season
was to develop young
players and hope there
was enough work in the
town to hold on to
them when they finished
their schooling.
‘‘It’s been tough (to
recruit),’’ Parsons said.
‘‘We’ve got to foster
our young kids, we’ve
had great numbers in
the 16 to 17-year-olds
who are still a year away
from establishing themselves
as senior players.

Froggy back and training here and by the look of things has brought some mates back with him .

Ash Parsons, back as well and is good mates with Bull Atkinson.....interesting ;).

I think you will find Matt Chapman hasn't signed at Barooga and is still with the Bendigo Bombers as he played in essendons intra club match last Friday. I believe they train with Rumba during the week when they arent in Bendigo so someone from there may be able to confirm he is still there???????
