From what I understand, it wouldn't be on MFL website unless Toc advised that White was the coach.
white as last years assistant coach would be 'caretaker' coach if there hasnt been an appointment yet, not necessarily the official coach, warnett signed yet?

Who do you fellas think is the best coach in the league?

I think Sexton will go well.
ill say Parsons. only because iv played under him. Hes one of those coach's who has a great ability to get the best out of his players.

I would have to say Sexton from personal experience, although Gary Parsons would have to be right up there. It will be interesting to see how both Dale Reyne & Hargreaves go also.. Parsons had a team full of great players to coach at Deni and got the rewards they deserved, But Sekko has an amazing ability to get the best out of his players, in his time coaching at Finley he has never been blessed with a superstar team to pick from, but he always manages to get them to be competitive.
He sets the example on the training track and is one of the most respected players to ever play country footy, he has earned all the accolades that have come his way.

Everyone has seen how quickly Finley dropped away after Damian retired from coaching & playing, they went from playing finals footy under Damian to not winning a game in the two years since his departure.

I just hope they recruit well and he has the cattle to work with.

Any chance Sexton will play?

Does anyone know if Lee James has signed at Mulwala? Played at Sunbury this year. Full Forward. Will be a very handy pick up if thats the case. Kicked of 100 goals 2 years ago in the RDFL

He played at Mul in 2007 didn't he? Looks like Jason Akermanis.

The Mulwala Football Club has itself well poised for season 2010 following the official appointment of ten new senior players. And eight of the Lions recruits are former Mulwala players, currently living in Yarrawonga and Mulwala. “

We’ve made it a bit of a focus to try and get some of our old players back,” MFNC president Adam Thomson said. “Primarily we’ve tried to keep it local but there’s two in the mix who will be travelling weekly from Melbourne. “The only two who haven’t previously played for Mulwala are Tim Hargreaves who is our newly appointed coach and Luke Cannard who played last season up in north Queensland,” he said.

The biggest signing for Mulwala, however, has been Lee James who lined up in Mulwala’s 2007 side, kicking a phenomenal ten goals in his debut game for the club. “To have Lee back is a huge score for Mulwala,” MFNC football manager Dale Ferguson said. “And not only for us, but having him back is a huge score for the league as well – he’s electric out on the field, he’s great for spectators, he takes a mark like Jesaulenko. “He’s also one of those power forwards that coupled with Dylan Robinson and Timmy Hargreaves, will make the Mulwala boys a tough outfit to beat,” he said. Travelling from Melbourne each week with Lee will be former South Cairns Cutters midfielder forward flanker Luke Cannard.

Among the local signings are midfielders Joel Thomas and Thomas Wilson and centre half forward/back John McHenry who have all crossed back over to their home side of the border from football stints at the Yarrawonga Pigeons. Also a former Pigeon, Nic O’Bryan, is looking forward to a new brand of football at Mulwala having journeyed across the bridge with his young family and following Hargreaves’ lead.

Former Billabong Crow Ben Slattery has returned home, as has his Crows team mate Kieran Kelly, a handy back flanker who has previously sided for the Lions in 2007. Ex Tungamah premiership player and back flanker Cory Hicks is another to have announced a homecoming while midfielder Chris Gallagher is making a return to football after a year off and previously playing for Barooga.

Having collected ten new players, the club has otherwise retained its 2009 ranks, only losing John Springett who is living in Melbourne. “We’re really looking to play competitive football and having a good year out on the field,” Thomson said. “Playing seniors will be competitive business.”

In other of the club’s news former senior coach Chris McNamara has been appointed assistant match day selector.

I havent underestimated Gary Parsons at all. He is a great coach.
I would just love to see Damian have a quality team (in the Murray League) to work with for a change.
They are both very great coaches and both seem to be able to get the best out of the their players.

Be good to see the Cats pick up a few and even better for the comp, should be a very competitive year if all these rumored pick ups play :thumbsu:

The big influence during the Parsons era at Deni was Sean Drennan. Parsons got the players fit probably the fittest they had been for years but Drennan was the man behind the scenes bringing all the players together which was one of the big reason for the sucess that they had.
