There’s a sense of Groundhog Day about some of these performances against decent teams now, and it’s hard to see that changing without some big coaching and footy department changes. Bevo has been worked out by nearly every other coach in the AFL, and it’s been that way for a while now.

I don’t expect any changes though. Too many in senior positions at the club still see Bevo as the messiah after 2016, and they won’t be able to make the hard decision until we see the the media pile on the pressure, which seems unlikely to come until next season. We’re still not a proactive club, but a reactive one.

Beveridge being in charge still with zero pressure on him for his ego, stupid tactics, selections and positioning of players is starting to make me lose that joy and passion of watching this club.

Never stopped watching this team even in the Rhodes and McCarthey years but close this year to just not turning the tv on let alone flying interstate to watch live.

You can’t learn as a coach unless you can acknowledge mistakes made, doesn’t have to be publicly and rarely is but needs to internally and that’s clearly not happening based on the continuation of our glaring issues for the last few years and no attempt to fix them.

Yes we made a grand final but we procreated our backline by dominating the midfield and when we couldn’t do that or were wayward with our chances we got found out. Now ever team is using what Melbourne did to us and we never prepared for it or changed anything in preparation for it.

Twice we have made or won a grand final only to immediately drop the next year. Losing key older players isn’t an excuse this time or a hangover isn’t the excuse.

In all honesty I can see why Hannans attributes might be worth a shot there but not this week and not in this defence but there was footage they showed at qtr time of Hannan on Heeney just genuinely ball chasing. Like in come on what do we expect, why do we disrespect defenders so badly that we think just anyone can play there, obviously Hannan has zero defensive mindset he’s probably never played there in his life he just wandered off to the ball - you’re ****** manning a forward ffs that is your role there, you can’t just wander off and do your own s**t.
