WestCoast Eagles: okay, as a rd1 NAB game i wasnt really sure on what to expect, especially as i didnt see any of the all stars game. But the game really impressed me. Watched the COLvHFC game yesterday, and the similarities in posession between the eagles and haks off half back was clearly evident. We hit targets. maintained the ball. and pressured the opposition ball carriers. It was exciting to say the very least. Simpson will be a good call.. those elements are fundamentals too and given that you wont see the overall game plan in its entirety this early, to have those basic looking so good makes for a prosperous outlook for the year. Pace wise, due to the quick, clearing 10m handballs we ran them off their legs. Young blues side yes. but the ball movement speaks for itself, regardless of opposition. Lateral kicks like the handballs were releasing our runners, with gaff and masten especially capitalizing on it.. Shuey is showing a big year is coming, if 80m plays become a regular thing, his goals and gaol assists are going to push him into elite catagory. But with a deep, 1st starting midfield, needed to test our actual improvement/capability, we dont know for sure the position we are in, but with arguably the best spine in the league, the year looks promising

In the highlights the sideline commentator mentions that Emac was jogging after coming off the ground, surely they wouldn't let him do that if they thought it was serious?
entirely possible with an acl. concerning.

Yeh I guess, Woosha and Jacko both ran off the ground from memory, but surely jogging around isn't a test they do for an ACL these days?
Simpson has all but confirmed it. That's pretty close to all she wrote for the year, really. I don't want to kneejerk too badly but damn, that sucks.

Yeah I've heard that some of the short muscly guys in the NFL can actually play without an ACL as they have enough muscle around the knee to keep everything together.

So we're back to being screwed, not sure Brown, Schofield and a switching McGovern can hold down the fort.
He basically said the same thing when Brown went down last year. No one knows anything until the scans are done tomorrow.
If it is an ACL I think you move McGovern to fullback. Brown and Schofield don't have the size for the Gorilla FFs. He'll leak more goals but our DE % might actually go up.
Good thing Browns sponsor is a handsome fellow and saw this coming when he dove headfirst into the draft to pick him
eMac goes down for the season we are f**ked! There's no way around it, no player on our list can replace him, and if we're relying on brown and man bun schofield we are not in good position. Toaster in the bath time!! (Possible overreaction, but we are screwed if it's as bad as Simpson thinks)
Yep, if Emac's done his ACL our season is done and dusted.
No reason we still shouldn't play well. If he goes down its next man up.

Not wanting to be too negative a nancy, but **** thats a torpedo in the bow. Emac is irreplaceable. **** me. An ACL in our best defender. Go and get ****ed 2015 Karmichal! Mother of god! ****!

We'll be strangled by the likes of Hawkins, Franklin, Walker etc....
I think Emac in the last two years often was the difference between these players kicking large amounts of goals against us and keeping them relatively quiet (albeit that Hawkins and Walker's goal tally looked good against Emac last year I've no doubt it'd be a lot higher with a player like Brown on them).
