Going to have to dodge this site on Sat evening - don't have Fox but a friend does - he is kidnapping me to a corporate box at Suncorp for the Roar game and giving me a recording of the game to take home afterwards ... and I *hate* watching games when I already know the score :(

Watch out as they might be watching the Lions on the TV in the box there!

I didn't watch the Pies game last week but will be intersted to see how the 80 interchange cap affects their game style. The only reason i sya this is that they seem to have developed their squad based on that high level of interchange players - i think 80 is about half their average intercahnges for a game!
I wouldn't put it past Eddie and Buckley to lobby the AFL to change the rules due to the warm weather as occured in NQ last week.
IIRC Bucks was one of the loud critics of the prior week's heat in Adelaide??
We know how precious they can be.

If they do then I will be not caring about the soccer!

Last time I was there all the TV's in the executive suite were all set to show the same thing that was on the big screens in the stands.

Has anyone here used the AFL tv app yet this year on their iphone or ipad?
Is the quality ok?
Or should i just go to the pub? (will spend more than $14.99 at the pub tho)

Quality's a lot better this year than last year. It's watchable, definitely not HD though. I watch it on my iPad though - apparently it's pretty good on the iPhone, because of the smaller screen. The resolution doesn't scale up for the iPad.

Squad's up.

IN: McGrath, Rich, Brown, Merrett, Patfull, Raines

OUT: Redden, Lester, Maguire

Apart from Redden being given a rest, the most interesting thing for me is the lack of change. No Harwood, Mayes or Polec.

I believe three players will have to be culled before Saturday.

Yeah a lot better.

Looking at cabling it up to tv to see what that looks like as well.

Anyone done this ?

Agreed. It looks great on my Nexus 7 (which doesn't have as big a screen as an iPad so looks pretty good).

Let us know about how it looks on the TV though, I've got an Android TV stick that I have yet to try, which I'm curious to see how the quality will be.

I like that Leuey and Doc are still in. Reddo does deserve his rest. Those 5 ins will add some substantial experience.

Keep in mind 3 players still have to come out of that squad as emergencies.

I'm tipping Banfield, Michael and one of Yeo/Doc to come out.

Just read that Pendlebury and Swan aren't playing. Things are looking good.

This would suggest that Paparone and Yeo are in serious consideration for round one, and that Clarke and Michael are in a dogfight for that last list spot.

I thought Banfield might have fallen out of the race for round one after Saturday, but he gets another chance.

Unless of course any of the above get left out of the final team.

I thought Lester was really good in the second half last week, so I’d think he’d just be getting a rest, but it doesn’t feel like he’s been overplayed so far.

Will be interesting to see how the forwardline functions with Brown and McGrath playing.

Hmmm. That'll make for a slightly more even midfield contest.

I wonder if Raines will tag Beams, then. Or maybe he'll just be allowed to run free.

I was going to go to the Roar match but won't so I can watch our match and the Roar at the same time. Back button on the remote will get a work out haha. GO LIONS!

No Scott Pendlebury, No Dale Thomas, No Dane Swan, and No Luke Ball. Should help.

Cloke and Reid aswell

Really no excuses you guys should flog us

A lotttt of rookies there.

No Fasolo, Didak, Krakeour, Pendlebury, Ball, D.Thomas, Reid, Keefe, Cloke and Swan.

Compared with no Black, Staker, Redden and Maguire, I think I'll be disappointed with a loss.

They still have 12 premiership players out there plus Lynch & Young from last years trade period. I wouldn't say a win is a foregone conclusion. Would be a good time to get on.

Agreed. I watched bits of the Pies game last week, and their kids were certainly impressive. They won't be a walkover.

They've left a lot of class out of that team though.
