They still have 12 premiership players out there plus Lynch & Young from last years trade period. I wouldn't say a win is a foregone conclusion. Would be a good time to get on.
Yeah we started the game against GWS thinking it was a fait accompli and only just got away with it. The same sort of attitude this week and we will get beaten comfortably.

A lotttt of rookies there.

No Fasolo, Didak, Krakeour, Pendlebury, Ball, D.Thomas, Reid, Keefe, Cloke and Swan.

Compared with no Black, Staker, Redden and Maguire, I think I'll be disappointed with a loss.

Must admit I'm not familiar with all of the names in Collingwood's squad, but that looks like a very short team.

Jolly and Witts are the only ruckmen that I'm aware of. Brown is a genuine KPP height. Lynch is big, but not tall for a key forward. I imagine Goldsack will play the game in the forwardline.

Not quite sure who Clarke will match up on. I assume one of the Pies' rookies is some kind of tall forward.

I'm a bit disappointed about the side Collingwood have named. I think it would have been better for us if they'd played more of their stars.

By naming a significantly weakened side, the Pies have actually increased the pressure on us to win, perhaps by design. If they lose they can just point to all their absent stars. If we lose with close to our best team ... I no longer think an honourable loss is possible.

Yeah a lot better.

Looking at cabling it up to tv to see what that looks like as well.

Anyone done this ?

Agreed. It looks great on my Nexus 7 (which doesn't have as big a screen as an iPad so looks pretty good).

Let us know about how it looks on the TV though, I've got an Android TV stick that I have yet to try, which I'm curious to see how the quality will be.

I've been told doing it through AirPlay or the HDMI connector doesn't work - DRM stops it being streamed out. Haven't tried it myself to be certain, and that's only iOS, not Android.

Do i have to subscribe to afl.tv to watch games? Or are they free in the afl app?

Going to Mum and Dad's to watch this (roast pork/lamb and vegies on the menu), my wife won't spring for Fox at this stage. Looking forward to watching the boys build towards Round 1. Another strong showing by Ace would surely cement a spot for him. Also intrigued with the battle for the HBF slot, Doc maybe the favourite but it's too close to call. Regardless of the result we can be happy with how we are situated.

For all those that are looking for a slightly cheaper option then foxtel there is always Foxtel on Xbox. Works pretty well for me (mainly because I have an unlimited ADSL2 plan). It's about $50 a month but you have no contract so you can opt out at the end of the footy season.

Working on it... the things I do to avoid paying scamtel
Can you PM me with which one you go with? Might look at doing something similar.

yeah pm me too if you figure it out. i have a chrome extension that allows me to view youtube videos that 'aren't viewable from your area' so maybe if I sign up again and say i live in Connecticut and use that it might work. will try it out later.

just to be fair to ace, with the big fella back the amount of supply will be reduced so if he could snag 3 goals and help free up browny his job will be done. look forward to the game.

be a great win to beat the pies at home , but a very tough ask

Yeah. It will be interesting to see how much the Voss game plan and the team psyche accommodate other key forwards of the Cornelius/Martin variety, i.e forwards that like to play close to goal. It is one thing to say we don't want to focus too much on Browny, it's another thing to put it into practice.
