NAB Cup Semi Final

Reading between Fantasia's lines I suspect Minson won't be ready for Round 1, although they'll no doubt give him every chance. Hudson is being put on ice this week - can't risk anything happening to him as well.

This puts a lot of focus on Roughead who had a so-so game in Canberra and a much better one against Hawthorn. He'll be up against a better ruckman in Brogan this week so it'll be a good test for him.

If he performs well tomorrow I'm tipping him to debut in Round 1. If not, it could be Everitt who plays second ruck against Collingwood. He did OK against them last year IIRC.

Herald Sun: 'Rodney Eade looking past NAB Cup'

"IN contrast to the coach he'll face tomorrow night, Bulldogs coach Rodney Eade is not focussed on winning the pre-season competition...."

--Given the above, I still believe our boys are out for win tomorrow night though. We certainly should have Port's measure.

agree - i really do think winning our way into (some sort of) grand final can only be a good thing for this club...

IN: Brogan, Boak, Tredrea, Gray,

OUT:Lobbe, Nash, Trengove, Logan

4 of our 5 most important players come into the team this week (Carlile being the other.) Trengove dropped for match up reasons. Motlop still missing for us as is Johnson for you guys. Hopefully the skill level is high and it's a good game.

I'm devasted. We will have to wait for another day lol

You can mock me now that's ok, but your will see the tiger of Trengove sometime soon and then you will know what I am talking about :)

He isn't even my Buddy, I should be talking up Ebert and Chaplin.

Mate you clearly love your players but how old are you? Did I just read a post by you on your board where you stated that clubs sometimes draft players from other clubs just to get inside information on the opposition? This is your justification for drafting Scott Harding???

On the matter of your favourite little enforcer, Trengrove, do you really believe that in modern day football players are intimidated by other players who are aggressive? There's probably only one who is genuinely intimidating and he now plays for us. Then there are guys like McPhee and Cornes...phony tough guys who know they can posture all they like without the possibility of any retaliation with all the cameras around the ground.

Good luck tomorrow guys, should be a good game I would think.

Bulldogs by 14, would be nice to see you guys into a Grand Final to be honest (especially to give you a bit of experience when you make it to another later in the year ;))

Why get aggressive? Manipulate my words if you like. It was meant in a general sense, not harding in particular. I am sure it happens, no different to poaching staff from other clubs like assistant coaches, fitness staff etc etc.

So you think noone is intimidated anymore except for Hall give me a break. I still think Hill looks like a player who could be intimidated and he appears like he's a bit of a "soft" player who doesn't like the pysical stuff. hence I would play a physical player on him to test him. BTW in his own thread on here I seem some of your supporters agree that he's soft too.

No difference to the accusations made against Pearce from our side last year.

Can I ask who plays as a loose back for you guys these days?

IIRC Harbrow and Gilbee but Gilbee in particular tore us apart the last time we played and also kicked 1 or 2 goals though we did field a pretty weak side that day.

I'm a bit disappointed that Logan is out of the team because he is usually very good as a defensive forward.

Aggressive?

When I went on your board and suggested (in jest) that Trengrove had pulled out of the side to avoid Hill, my comment was removed. Seems we have sensitive souls at Port Power.

LOl very funny, yeah seems harsh. I like your humour though.

Good luck, will be interested in watching Hill's hardness tonight lol :) I am interested in seeing if we can control Aker.

There was almost a magic moment when Hill had his first shot for goal in the first quarter - the time was 19:54pm
Unfortunately he found the woodwork. :(

You can probably get over this now:).

I was at a Quiz night so I didn't get to see the whole game, but I did see Hill do some good things so hat's off to him.

Don't know who we had on him? Anyone, but do you guys think he's a tough person to match up on do to his athletic ability eg jump and reach and therefore needs a taller defender?

Anyway good luck to you guys, from what I saw it seemed like a cracking game and your supporters made more noise (hope you guys enjoyed it), than what the Saints supporters are making :)

Hall looked primed and stating the obvious he's going to be a real asset and hopefully take you guys to the final day in Sept.

I leave you fella's alone, once again well done.
