I agree. Second to a premiership in 2019 is my want to see Nakia play long-term, great football for the Cats. And it’s a very close second.
Haha same man. Not everything is about winning/losing. I can't remember being as excited about a kid we drafted and seeing what they can do.
Nablett and Hawkins only come close.

He showed enough last week in a half easily take Atkins spot. He just doesn’t have the conditioning. So they can build that by crushing him on the track for two weeks, VFL next week, Carlton the week after, rest during the pre-final bye, which will remove the traditional tiredness after the first game back.

Let’s not forgot the Hawks bringing Cyril back after a regular season out rehabbing his hamstrings.

Except they aren't "crushing him" in the VFL - from the article quoted above: "He was on light duties at training on Wednesday and Geelong is committed to playing the long game with him to ensure his body can consistently handle the rigours of playing after such a long injury layoff."

The fact he had half a VFL game, and is then on light duties on the training track kinda indicates that he has probably been sore majority week and that they reconsidered his chances of VFL earlier than later. I believe they genuinely wanted him to play which is why he was named for today's match, but they realised yesterday that probably wasn't in a position to do so

If he's any chance for seniors this year he needs a solid 3 to 4 weeks of VFL before being considered - no point playing a guy who gets through half a game but then can't train. He needs to show he can back it up at VFL level which he hasn't done yet. And as for the idea of playing Carlton & having a week off to remove the traditional tiredness - Menegola had a full VFL game followed by a week off and we know how he went against Freo. Cockatoo needs continuity of games - not playing, week off, a couple of games and week off etc

Cocky, will he, won't he?
This will keep us speculating for a few weeks!

light training & no playing...

It will keep us speculating but what happens next week will tell us a lot - will he return to full training & should he play, what will be his game time? Not sure they will necessarily pushing him to the 3/4s as they hoped & instead will be another 50% to see how he pulls up.

Didn't he play 3qs last week? I really don't believe it was soreness. I think they looked at the weather and just went F**k that.

Last week was half a game - off to the showers at half time & keeping warm in a tracksuit in the second half

They have reported it's soreness - while it sounds good to hope it's about the weather & not his body, the fact they are reporting he was on light training kinda leans towards last weeks match taking more out of him than the club hoped. The light training session may have been to not overload him on the training track & hope he pulled up ok for today, but realised it wasn't going to happen

Weirdly enough... He's paying 18 bucks on Sportsbet to kick 3 or more tonight..
Equal odds with Danger and TK...

I don't for a moment think he is a late in, in fact that is a nonsense thought... But it is just bizarre to see him listed in the odds.

Assume it's just covering bases from the bookies

also paying $21 to be first goal scorer

Something doesn't seem right - as you said, it's nonsense to think he'll be a late in & bizarre to see him listed in the odds

Unless someone somewhere has heard something...

True. But most of the time Cyril did feck all too.

Even then, even he had shown more than Cockatoo has so far.

Either that or their looking for the sucker punter.

Got a theory about Cocky and TK. Having a gander at both TK and his partner's Instagram over the last few weeks, it seems the two of them are pretty close. Caitlin posted about Cocky's return to VFL last week while the seniors were over in Perth and there's been several times they've referred to him as "Uncle Nakia" when posting photos of Nakia and their kids.

I wonder if we're going to put Cocky on ice for the rest of the season, and entice TK to stay so they can both play in Cocky's return match in the hoops early in 2020.

Wishful thinking.
Has there ever been a more speculated 5 year 34 game player?

If you think 'uncle' means something then you don't understand indigenous people the world over.
My wife is Maori. I've met that many 'uncles' that she doesn't even know it's not funny.
It's akin to 'bro' but just directed differently to an elder.

Easiest money a bookie ever made - start a rumor a player who is clearly not playing will play and collect the cheeky 10ers punters throw on
