Nope - Cockatoo was reportedly ready to go against Brisbane but we held him back a couple of extra weeks.

He reportedly ran faster at training this week than he does during a match, no issues reported.

So sad for the kid because the glimpses he shows are breathtaking - last night was probably the closest he's come to a four-quarter performance and he got injured in the last.
This implies that he never runs at 100% intensity during a match which is just bullshit.

You can not fully replicate match conditions through training. Everybody knows this. It's really not that hard to work out.

It's funny the things that people will believe when they really want to...

Yep, he shouldn't have played. It was a massive blunder by our medical and/or coaching staff.

Let's hope that we've learned from it.
Need to reintroduce the sub rule- easer to bring back players from injury.

The best prognostic sign is the amount of time to return to normal gait.

How did you think he looked V ?
Seemed to move very welll including some fast leads and leaps to clunk a few marks
He seemed to ping it after some impressive break away acceleration and kick for goal - disappointing to say the least
At least Parfitt seems ok after a much worse tear:)

It's about mitigating the risk. We failed to do this yet everyone seems determined to want to turn a blind eye. I won't!
He ticked the boxes required for senior selection. And skill wise, not found to be wanting.
I also hoped he would play VFL, but the MC and High Performance team have ALL the information.
We have to let it be.

So you also hoped that he would play VFL but because the club "knows best" you're happy to let it go? By all means let it go but I'm not going to. It's a clear case of negligence on the clubs part and these sorts of things can be critical at this time of the year.

We should have managed him better mate. It's that simple!

We sit and make judgements after the event, sometimes before- and I did on this one, but that is me being me- cautious and protective.
When you say you're not going to let it go, I presume you mean here, on BF. You are not actually going to complain to the club?

Haha, I don't even know what I meant but what I do know is that complaining to the club isn't going to do any good. I live in the real world mate.

I also said before the event that he should be coming back through the VFL FWIW.

This isn't a crack at you but if only the club had been more "cautious and protective" then we may not be in the predicament that we now find ourselves in.

This is just a hunch but I reckon deep down you know I'm right on this one...

Let's see the verdict after his scans.
Would be good if he had a back related hamstring spasm rather than a retear.
We did see one of his better performances yesterday preinjury.

It's a re-tear. You know this as well as I do mate.

And yes, it was one of his better performances which makes it all the more frustrating.

I really don't. Need examination and scans for that knowledge.
His facial expression was like it was, but he did jog off .
