That content provided by the club from Quaynor with the GoPro didn’t look good for Kreuger. He wasn’t wearing a sling and it wasn’t iced, but he was holding his jumper with his hand in such a way that he didn’t move his left arm at all.

That's all I saw which is why I assumed slight A/C tear, until you told me that it wasn't.

I still haven't even seen the actual replay of the injury occurring. Where is it? I'm lazy.

No. A Festivus miracle!

As a devotee of Festivus, I appreciate the opportunity to display an image of its founding father. True greatness.

If you're medically subbed out, aren't you banned from playing next week?

Can't keep up with all the rule changes AFL makes.
Not necessarily. I believe they can play but there may be some sort of application to do so.
I'm pretty certain there have been cases of players who were subbed out playing the following week, though there's been a bit of controversy when that has happened. They can't play for 12 days if they're subbed out due to concussion. This is how the relevant parts of the rule looked when it was introduced a little over 12 months ago, and it's probably not changed: AFL statement on new medical sub rule

So if we're still not hearing anything I'm gonna go ahead and assume thew worst at this point. It seems awfully odd to go this long after a Saturday game without an injury update on a player everyone is eager to hear about

Jen posted a short video on Twitter of him standing around the outside of the ground, moving his arms (although not above his head). No strapping, no sling.

I guess it's possible he dislocated (or similar) his shoulder or something but didn't do any structural damage so to speak?

Still expect him to miss but intruiging nonetheless. Might miss a week or two whilst he builds some strength back up to support the ligaments?

My imagination tells me he was joking around saying he will have to do right hand drops onto his left foot - which kinda suggests his left shoulder is a bit ouchy.

Not an expert but I did suffer a couple of dislocations when playing local footy. There is no way I could move it like that a couple of days after. It hurt like hell for a few days and gradually got better. Sleeping was a nightmare for the first week or so. We are all different but that looks promising to me.

Looking good overall.

In this situation where he has no sling, is moving the shoulder actively, and doesn’t look to be in pain with the arm moving below shoulder height, all signs would appear to be that he has avoided significant damage.

I would think he will have fairly intensive conservative treatment now to ensure he regains full, pain-free range, normal strength and can participate in all sport-specific drills (including body contact) before putting him back out there in a game.

I think he’ll probably miss 1-2 games because of pain and likely some shorter term weakness. We’ll see.

Noice, hopefully you’re right, a little ouchy is all and a little bit of Nannas ointment should do the trick.

Jen's video gives me a lot of hope

As someone with a troublesome right shoulder that's making sleeping comfortably tricky, even a motion as simple as what he was doing in that video wouldn't be doable without serious pain if he had dislocated it

No sling, no strapping...

Please be ok Nathan

I've had sublax's before and although the damage is relatively minimal the ouch factor is still there plus the shoulder is by far the most complex joint in the body so every care should be taken to ensure it's right before putting it under stress.

Now she has a video of him walking along holding a footy above his head in each hand.

From previous experience that definitely cuts out any chance he damaged his AC (I know TRS has already declared it not AC but for the sake of playing an elimination game...)

I'd love to see him prove a point against the Cats.

I said earlier that I thought he’d likely had a posterior subluxation and stretched the posterior capsule, and I still lean toward that as being most likely.
