Sounds silly but would rest him vs north *short turn a round (sore body after first afl game in so long)

Play Johnson and the Krueger straight back in

Bloody rapt for him
He needs to play to show what he can do. If he breaks down so be it. It's do or die for Freddy's career this season. Good first game but he needs to repeat that performance a few more times.

He’s everything AJ is not. I hope he can finally get a good run at it, because he, Checkers and McStay would be an effective tall forward unit imo.
Yep.

We can make all the excuses in the world for AJ but Kreuger managed to perform in similar circumstances to him.

Rapt for Kreuger.

When I went to training during GF week last year, I was really struck by Kreuger’s enthusiasm. He’d been injured for most of the season, was no chance of playing, and had ostensibly a very uncertain contract situation but he was effervescent during the session, pumping his teammates up and doing Hulk Hogan poses to the crowd. Bloody legend.

Couldn’t be more deserving, and I hope he stays in seniors now and everyone else can try to force him out.
As you said last week he has a great kick on he is also very fast for a bloke his size he chases and defends as well all ways no lack of effort on his part.

I would like to see him given a run in the 1sts I think he has earnt the chance to A.) get a fair crack at it B.) make sure he has no injuries.

I have always felt he would have playing AFL if not for injury and I just hope he confirms over the next month or so and that would be no more than he deserves IMO.

If always felt that if he bulked up a bit he would be a little less injury prone. I think he could be a real beast in a contest.

Great stuff Krueger, brain fade early going 3rd man up in a ruck contest? Not sure what he was thinking.. but made up for it. Could have had 4-5 goals as had 2 poor kicks to him on good leads in the last quarter.
Cameron and Kreuger both nominated.

It’ll give the selectors something to think about with Hill, Elliott, Schultz, Harrison McCreery, Richards and the resting ruckman also commanding a spot.

We could be on the cusp of our best forward line in decades.

add Mihocek, Mcstay, Cox, Degoey(if Crisp stays in the middle) AND if kreugs kicks goals during the injury run, then we not only create a headache for other sides but picking our best team is tough.

Looks like a keeper! Deserves a good run at it coz he has put the work in, is always positive and has great skill and athleticism.

He could be a late bloomer - a bit like James Podsiadly for Geelong in the 2010-2014 era, who averaged two goals per game and won a Premiership. 🤞

Jarrod molloy is the bloke he reminds me of.

He adds such a good dynamic to the team. He’s 196cms, very quick, super aggressive at the footy and provides relentless pressure. His left foot is booming, and his set shots were very reliable today. He could have easily had another goal too.

If he can stay healthy, we’ve got a really interesting discussion to have going into finals. I think I like Mihocek, McStay & Kreuger best as a trio

If anything he’ll take the load off Checkers which is crucial.

Those three as the talls, and Bobby, Shoota, Elliott, HH and Beau as the smalls rotating through. That’s a dangerous lineups plus WHE to offer support too

Just gotta pray he stays fit. That’s the concern.

Was thrilled for Kreugs today. Excellent intent, kicked well, presented like a KPF and brought it to ground when out positioned. Was amazed at how fast he covers the ground when chasing down players. A really unique set of attributes and after having only played a handful of AFL games, still has huge potential for growth.

Before I get my hopes up too much. Im well aware of his injury history, but less so the nature of the injuries. I understand his kamikaze style has played its part, but there’s no real recurrent or ongoing issues if I recall correctly? Just gets injured in different ways over and over?

This guy can be a serious player for us. I’m just trying to work out how much to temper my hopes by someone better versed on his injury history to fill me in.

Kruegs and Checkers could be a really good combo.
Fingers crossed Kruegs can back it up and stay out there. We need him. Made a real impact today.
McStay, Krueger and Checkers are all very similar players in that they are not traditional key position "gorillas" and all play well below their knees and are very mobile.

In the few games he’s been fit enough to play I’ve liked him. Gives maximum effort, chases, tackles, hits packs. He’s a bit short to be a back up ruck. I’d rather he play in the forward line and Frampton rucks.

The chase he provided with 15:29 left in the third was pretty typical of his attitude to footy. It’s clear it actually means something to him. Much like when you see WHE celebrating teammates’ marks and goals etc.
