That's a good point. I guess Chalmers, Cook etc will be getting a lot more training with Wade than dropping 25 points a game over undraftees. Just from watching video's on the Heat site, Beasley is doing heaps of 1-on-1 stuff with Coach Spo, Riley and 'Zo.

But it would be good to see how draftee's Beverley and Dozier go in a (semi) competitive environment.

Funniest moment of the day came before the first ball was tipped. In the opening introductions of the Timberwolves-D-League Select team, Wayne Ellington was introduced as hailing from Duke. As Ellington trotted onto the floor, he did a double-take -- Whaaa?! -- then cracked a big smile as the public address announcer corrected himself, noting that Ellington went to North Carolina. "That was ridiculous!" Ellington said of the PA's snafu. "I had to go over and say something to the guy."

I'm all for blokes not fouling out, but I hate it when a bloke drops 30-40 points and half of them are free throws while some opponents rack up 8 or 9 fouls. One of the only things I hate about summer league.

For example; how's the Spurs' Ian Mahimi 12 points & 16 rebounds and 2 blocks, but 10 fouls.

Just for those who are interested. Blake Griffins first SL game.

I think the real story though, is Championship Ring owner Adam Morrison still playing SL :p

Jawai: Missed all of his 5 field attempts, 1 free throw & 4 rebounds

Baynes: 4 points & 4 rebounds.

DeRozan's shot is looking tight. Watching a Raps v Suns SL game - completely rubbish game but DD is playing well. Not demanding the ball, but showing good signs when he gets it. His mid-range is straight money, has hit some tight fadeaways.

Im excited with this kid, I dont think he will be a bust anymore. :thumbsu:

Easy on the SJax bashing!

But yeah, hopefully Nellie gives Randolph (and co.) some more consistent minutes this year - it's exciting to watch if nothing else.

Oh and Blake Griffin had the better of Thabeet in their first encounter.
