There is nothing in what Roth said that is whinging the reaction to him is hysterical and defensive. Teams should take it as a compliment that they have great players and should only lose a couple of games, own it be that team.

Would have thought those clubs would be pleased to have it articulated they have talented teams and would be expected to win a lot of games. Nothing controversial there.

Yep responses are childish, agreed. If they are annoyed - no need to respond if they are secure in who they are.

No doubt Melbourne, Perth and Sydney all have recruited well and have talented teams, expectation is they will not lose a lot of games. Some clubs will have spent a lot of money no doubt, why get so defensive about it - embrace being the glamour team, in every other facet it is.

NBL were also equally as weak with their statement.

Wonder what Issac Humphries has to think about it. Makes their whole Pride Round seem hollow now.

When Humphries made his statement it certainly created waves. Id like to think mostly overwhelmingly positive. However there are a section of society that very much did not like that it was "shoved down our throats". And some were also Melb Utd supporters. that in itself mustve cause inner conflict for the fans as they disliked perhaps a player is gay, but he plays for the team they love. One wonders what the reaction was at the game when Humphries scored or blocked or secured a board from said persons.

I’d like to think Humphries coming out was, as a whole, overwhelmingly positive, by the general community - and the general condemnation of Webster echoes this.

Sure, there’ll be a minority of people that say it’s ‘ramming it down their throats’, which says more about them than anything else. It’s sad that people hate someone simply because of how they were created, and it’s pathetic to see them ram their hatred down people’s throats.

But then we still have people who hate people simply because of the colour of their skin.
