What a grossly frustrating team to support the JJs have become.

I know we had a charmed first 2 seasons, but I feel like it's a very high price we're paying for it now.

Thoughts?

Biased but Trezz is probably fair. Yes he’s doing as expected of a player of his calibre and pedigree but without him the Sixers are probably down with Brisbane and SEM. Not sure Davis would’ve been a needle mover too much without that big inside help, especially with Martin essentially a non factor so far.

PJC is a legit gun

Watching NBA yesterday and NBL (especially on the day I posted that) are so wildly different. NBL just does not stop the music, it's constant, and sometimes multiple minutes of a song. Is the league that void of atmosphere they need to artificially create it (I dont think so but I can't think of another reason they'd do this)

Maybe I just watched a 'bad' game for it! Hope so anyway as it's annoying AF

I wanted to go tonight but mates bailed. Think we'll crush Cairns tbh, hope so anyway
Admittedly I have only ever gone to a 36ers game but I have always been impressed with the atmosphere at their games. Great for kids

Having now been to my first game at the AEC I agree wholeheartedly.

Long time before I take my kid, but when they are old enough I think they’d love it.

I've been to games in Melbourne, Cairns and Launceston, and the basketball is an outstanding atmosphere for families. As a sports purist, and as someone with some mild sensory issues, the constant noise gets to me... but I have to understand that the music and the guy leading Hungry Jacks chants isn't there for me. I bought some Loop earplugs like an old man at a rock concert and it's fine.

And basketball has had that element of sensory overload to it long before I started going to games, so who am I to complain? I get more annoyed when sports try to introduce that shit where it's not needed, and they do it overnight in spite of a lot of their regulars, like has happened with BBL cricket.

I've been going to Basketball matches since the late 80's and music has always featured prominently. Nowadays I find myself wishing it wasn't as modern music is crap. Regardless of that the atmosphere at basketball is phenomenal when the fans are passionate about the game. Whether it was 4,500 rabid fans at Challenge or 10 - 13,000 rabid fans at RAC there is nothing like a basketball match. I've also been to a couple of matches in Brisbane their crowds are good if a little subdued.

The music existing isn't the issue, it's always happened and the NBA does. It's how overboard it's gone and leaving the music on for multiple verses/choruses is ridiculous

Time outs, DEFENCE chant, breaks etc blast the music. Get the crowd into when they fall asleep (isn't often!) but to go basically 40 mins straight gameplay with music blaring is OTT imo

Some games are better than others for it. I think the initial time I posted was easily the worst I'd seen that season, that was particularly bad

Havent read the thread its probably been mentioned but my god Goorj is such a ****ing headcase with his rotations.
Cam Oliver is one of the very best of the league and an excitement machine but struggles for minutes. Probably lost the past two games by not playing him down the stretch.

And leupepe DNP too. Thought he was a solid part of their side

They tried to play small ball

It was fun and chess games early. Toohey scored a couple on Loe but likewise Loe got a couple inside

Holy **** this is a bad game

The Jackies are a real tough watch this season, the goal appears to be making their games as brutally ugly as possible.

Yeah Tassie has been horrid to watch. To be honest the quality overall of the league hasnt been great as of yet this year. Nearly every game I watch the commentators seem to be saying "look its been a ugly quarter hasnt it" etc.

Last nights game was fun though and hawks v cats tonight is promising
