Justa,

State of reckoning "Yawn" I mean Origin - We have to lose one sooner or later and you could not get a better place to lose to than NSW, They have come second for nearly a Generation, there are kids who are nine and below years of age currently asking their Dads and Mums will NSW ever win an Origin Series again????

Also for the record my tips went in on Monday - as not to miss the embarrassment of missing any early games - it might be a bit of Northern Smarts or of who gives a rats rectum Ha, Ha.

Good luck to all on the Weekend - I am Melbourne bound to watch the Lions V Kanga's game tomorrow and then off to the Tuesday night Foxtel Cup Game - you wont miss me on the idiot box, I will be the good looking big bloke behind the Richmond end Goals along with the twelve other supporters at that end. Big Ground, Big win, Big Game, Big Call. Go the NEAFL side - When the best of the States of Origin play for pride as one.
Billy I am in Melbourne next week for work. What time is the game, from your description I assume its at the G. Meet up?

Thunder belted a good Lions team list wise by some 12 goals tonight. Eweing bagged 7 and Dunne 5. Still cannot understand how the Thunder lost to Aspley by some 20 goals last week......

We were unlucky last week... but the universe has restored this week :)

On the back of an interesting discussion in the QAFL forum, I voiced that I think the next step for NEAFL certainly here in Qld, is to allow the AFL clubs to contract Players for NEAFL only along the lines of the VFL.Allowing to strengthen the footy level even more and open up further pathways.

Having watched the Suns/Redlands game on the Net (Good coverage) I think it has merit. I personally know some of the Suns Top up players that have moved down from the North with the slim hope of making a living from the game. Some are rookie listed with NEAFL clubs, some are not, but it is a fuunny situation where they play for the Suns and do not get paid but the NEAFL club they are listed with (including rookies) can get about $100 a game if they get a run with them or their preferred QAFL club but are expected to line up as a top up with their AFL club for love ??

Watched the Redlands vs Suns today. Suns competitive for the first half but even then one could see it was only a matter of time till Redland broke away.
Hughes bagged 11 in a great display,,,, looked like the Hughes of some 3 or 4 seasons ago,,, has bagged 27 in 5 games now. Phil Carse,, dominated all over the ground,, gee he is s good player.
For the Suns, Hutchins was good as was Summer. Karmicheal Hunt went ok also.....think he may well return to rugby league next season,,, that's his game.

Agree the AFL clubs should pay a min 50 per game

Watched the Redlands v Suns game at the weekend and I will firstly say what a great crowd. The Bombers always put on a great day. The game itself was ok with Steamer Hughes up and about and gave Warnock a football lesson. The Bombers tackle pressure and intensity around the pill was first class. An absorbing battle in the ruck between Wolbers and Hunter with Wolbers winning the majority of the hitouts but Suns mids not making the most of his good work. Hunter has a real future, struggled with the flu all week but turns out a gigantic effort, much like his game in the NT when he was the only Redlands player to get off the plane. The pleasing thing was the Bombers went in for the kill, it can certainly happen against the AFL reserves team especially when you can get them off the bit, interest wise and then go for the throat.

Neafl rep game is interesting, most of the team will come from the 3 northern teams and NT. Froggy Davey has pulled out. Aspley have named a full strength team for there foxtel cup game so the 4 or 5 in the rep team have a extremely tough few days.

Dogwarna, yes good comments about the game...this Hunter guy is very impressive. Redlands play a great style of footy and will be a threat this season. And yes, a good crowd for a home and away game. And as Ive said before on this forum, the best steak sangers by far at any venue in the comp.!!!

Just on the subject of food provided by clubs at home and away games, has anyone got some recommendations. For example, I find the Steak sangers at Redlands unreal..... Broadbeach has gained a reputation for their steamed dim sims, Morningside have hot dogs that are actually kransy dogs and are delicious. Mt Gravatt have the American hotdogs that are great as well. On the other side of the coin, I find Southport home games, as the worst providers of food at the footy.Just a bit of fun, but hey, give us your opinions,,,,,

Well done to aspley fc for sending a strong team to melbourne. I'll be cheering for them.

On the neafl sort out Canberra and you have a very good comp I reckon.

There's been chat about an AFL reserves comp. I not certain it will happen it costs a lot more and I think making the state leagues the third tier rather than the 2 nd tier that may be regrettable. I for one enjoy watching community clubs take on the pros

For Manuka the high percentage play is to eat at Brodburger before or after a game.

Just read that the REP game has been moved to Blacktown International Sports Park instead of being the curtain raiser to the Giants v Tigers game at Spotless stadium.

Seems the game will now be played in front of the coaches and support staff only. Can't imagine them getting any sort of crowd now that it is being played out at a ground which is effectively a ghost town in the middle of nowhere. Very disappointing.

Also being played at a time where it would be impossible for a fan to make both this match and the Giants match.
