geez mate, are you that serious about the tipping comp !!! Yes, rules are rules, but I for one and sure the other 3 tipsters didn't realise the Swans vs Giants game was on at 4.10 pm.If us 4 tipsters had all picked the Giants to win, would you of said anything. ??

Stuyd i would have mentioned that you missed the cut irrespective of who you picked, in this case it happened to be the winner so affected the standings.
I have no reason to think that it was anything but an honest mistake by everyone, but mate are you seriously asking that your tip on a sporting competition be allowed after the result was known and public???
 
I kicked myself when the error was picked up, but I willingly made the corrections and now I've let it go.
It was good that it was brought out now, asap, rather than at season's end when there might have been a dead-heat and it was going to be awkward to have a recount.
Error picked up, corrected, all good. Let's move on now and argue about footy. There are matches to be picked............

I guess Ive got my back up, as myself, 2010 premier, and Dogwarna and Chikka were inaugural participants in this tipping comp some 3 seasons ago. In this time we never questioned cut off times etc , .. the only time we had to contest our tips was when the tallymaster may of incorrectly scored our tips.... but we never worried about the cut off times etc.... I mean its only a bit of competitive fun for us guys,,, no prizes are involved, .Anyway, sorry to sound like a whinger, just is the principal of the matter.

Relax Stuyd, no need to shoot down LAB. I picked it up also, scores were coming through twitter, that is very public. The right outcome has eventuated, I ended up on top.....haha

Your right it is just abit of fun, all the more reason not to let it affect you. Get your tips in prior to kick off (I don't know a tipping comp that can exist any other way) and all is good, regardless of how long you've been in the tipping comp.

thanks for your post. I for one are not into twitter where apparently one can get updated results as it hapens etc, and that's not the issue here. I did not realise the Swans vs Giants game was on at 4.10 pm. all good, I rest my case ,,,,hahaha,

This is why we Southerners love Queenslanders so much ! If you're all a bit quiet NOW then I can't wait til the State of Origin gets under way.
But that's another story..................

State of reckoning "Yawn" I mean Origin - We have to lose one sooner or later and you could not get a better place to lose to than NSW, They have come second for nearly a Generation, there are kids who are nine and below years of age currently asking their Dads and Mums will NSW ever win an Origin Series again????

Also for the record my tips went in on Monday - as not to miss the embarrassment of missing any early games - it might be a bit of Northern Smarts or of who gives a rats rectum Ha, Ha.

Good luck to all on the Weekend - I am Melbourne bound to watch the Lions V Kanga's game tomorrow and then off to the Tuesday night Foxtel Cup Game - you wont miss me on the idiot box, I will be the good looking big bloke behind the Richmond end Goals along with the twelve other supporters at that end. Big Ground, Big win, Big Game, Big Call. Go the NEAFL side - When the best of the States of Origin play for pride as one.
