Brisbane lions..... Voss and hierachy ....... I just cant understand their thinking....team selection for this week still has Merret at full forward( hes a defender and thats it), have named Hawkesly on the bench after he was named one of their best players last week and have Zorko as an emergency after he came on in the 3rd quarter last week and did ok.I recognize Voss as a great player and leader, but he is not a coach at this level and its time for a change... including a clean out of the committee members.

Panthers in Uptons 150th.Notting could have rested this week and played in the state game.
Southport to continue on their merry way.
Broadbeach.Always hard to beat at home.
Suns.Due for a win.
Lions.No idea why...

Billy MT Gravatt play Southport.

LAB - Thanks for the heads up but,

Since nearly half the state side will be made up of Southport players for next weeks game, I thought they might take it easy this week and take the no injury approach and after the reports I heard on Mt Gravatt's game last week, they might be a little harder to beat than everyone gives them credit for - what do you think Maurie? I see you have taken the safer, softer option.

No prizes for winning the NEAFL tipping comp - maybe just a few little football credits thrown your way. I think I got 1 right last week so my credits are gooone!!!!!! I need a few roughies to salute from here on in and the Mountain Men may just be one of them.

For the record I think the Thunder will get the next gig against the Port Melbourne reserves in the Foxtel Cup Comp.

Think I picked em every game last year and was doing the same early this year and what i saw was pretty ugly.... Southport are flying and we are only start to get our feet of the ground....fair gulf between the two am afraid. Am not prepared to bet with my heart over my brain again....First marriage cured me of that!!!!

Hey Billy - LAB was trying to tell you that you that you've tipped both Mt Gravatt and Southort, in error. Good explanation though....haha

At the risk of being howled down again by the Hornet contingent on here, I would say this was a classic result for a club (Vultures) that has learnt to scrap and fight for everything they get and has enormous pride in what they have vs a club that is still built upon recruiting every person north of Chermside and hoping it all falls into place with no real love for the jumper or the club (just yet). WTF is going on at Graham Rd??

All the Hornets contingent must have their heads in the ground. No response from the faithful.Rumour has it Payne not the only recruit that was promised high paying money for work that did not eventuate.
Did Proud end up at Grange?

Tips are as follows..

Labrador to continue Panthers woeful form. How the hell did Bonney make state squad? Will they search for a experienced coach?
Cats to stay in touch with the top 5 and probably end Aspleys high hopes of batting well into this finals series.
Southport in a close one.
Gold Coast Suns with Jared Brennan doing as he pleases.
Brisbane.Well 1 Brisbane team has to win.

Possum should kick 12.Will Matt Clarke catch the eye of the state selectors?

Labrador by 10 goals to continue their terrific start to the year over the Panthers who may not beat ta Northern Conference team this year.
Southport narrowly over Mt Gravatt in a danger game. A premiership re-union you would think would help the Vutures get up for the game and their form has been decent the last couple of week.
Broadbeach over Aspley again narrowly. A danger game for the Cats, The Hornets were stung last week and should come out all guns blazing.
Redland in an upset by 30 points. I reckon the bombers are a decent footy team and the Suns have a heap of changes and aren't going that well for mine.
Lions over GWS comfortably- Lions have a healthy list and are using few top ups.

He's not even that TBH Stuyd - despite winning the "most spoils" stat last year i think (WTF is a stat like that??? Good defenders take marks now, not spoil at every opportunity) he is still a liability in that side. Have never seen a bloke make so many elementary mistakes, cost his team goals and STILL get a game every week let alone be incl in the leadership group! Despite all this my young fella reckons he's a top bloke as did my wife who both met him this year!!:D

Yeh FF, I got it after I wrote my blog, I then quickly looked and changed it, but on reflection a half a point would at least get my creds up from last week, This should be a cracking game all the same, if my prediction is close to the mark. These two sides, in the past have lived out the season just to play each other and with a full on club reunion on at the top of the Mountain, that has surley got to get the best out of the current playing group?????? Tip this one, at your own perial my friends.

smy,

No disresect to your family but, good blokes work at the car wash - good footballers work on their weaknesses, there are a lot of dirty cars out there, maybe its time for a change of occupation for the good of the Lions!!!!!

Staminade,

I dont think there are too many unemployed players at the Hornets at the moment, as they tend to look after ther own when it comes to the player welfare Department.
The only thing that is unemployed up there currently at the moment IMO and they are getting smaller by the week are a few inflated ego's.

What is high paying money? $1,000,000.00 or $1.00 it is all about selling yourself at the time the pen goes to paper, when your ego gets in front of your ability then everyone is in trouble.

I am sure that all associated with the club would love to be able to pay Matty Payne and others at the club very well to be part of their workforce as IMO, he and they as a footballers are worth every cent and as a tradesman or a stock broker etc I am sure they are worth as much if not more.

My point is - just to have a job at the moment is worth a lot more than most realise.

So stop stirring S--T and keep shaking the tins and selling the raffle tickets for you club, so you can achieve the network of having a great player support base that most would kill for.

My point is the club promises new recruits top jobs on top of their playing contract. Most players come up for the security of work. They arrive in Brisbane to find out the work has fallen through. The club gets them lesser work.Has happened in the past and has happened this year.Players around Aust will get these reports back and not deal with Aspley in the future. No recruits for the club = no success on footy field.
