Off topic, but why is Melburnian spelt without the O including the official presentation? Urban dictionary has it as MelbOurnian.

Let's hope the awareness light shines back on what the Ice freeze dunking is trying to achieve and not the personalities ego's who get involved etc....Neale Daniher: One of the best player's i have ever seen. For those who never saw him play, he was just as good as Hird before injury cut him down! Well deserved recognition.

MND has suddenly become very real for me in the last couple of months. My mother's partner of 15 years was diagnosed and it's crazy how quickly he has deteriorated. I've seen him twice since diagnosis (they live in QLD), and the part that struck me the most was his energy levels and how hard it is for him just to be up and socialising with everyone -

I didn't even know this beforehand but he watched his own father die from the same thing - his dad basically suffocated when his lungs stopped working.

I'll be up in QLD again around New Years and I'm a bit worried about how much worse he will be (based on phone conversations with Mum, it doesn't sound great)

He has already resigned to his fate, but if Neale's work (and others) can help find new treatments for others in the future it will be well worth it.

He is a shining light in the darkness of MND, what he has done and how he and his family have carried themselves is just wonderful, this recognition is so deserved to him and his family

Saw this thread bumped and feared the worst. Hoping Neale lives to see some progress in treatment and cure 🙏

Wonderful human being.

It's great to see Neale is still fighting on more than 11 years after his diagnoses, I think it's more than double the life expectancy of MND sufferers.

Congratulation Neale, it's an honour well deserved.
