Man, doing a deal with the crows would be a hoot. They already have a sh*t team with poor youth. If you stripped them of picks for a 29 year old, they still probably wouldn't make finals and would be f’ed for years.
This can't be further from the truth. Not sure why Port fans blatantly lie like this.

We all think we needed to improve our midfield, and there was a lot of commentary about Lachie and JL being very similar with respect to defensive running. We free up cap space and hopefully gain a good player or early draft pick.

May work for both parties, hope the deal gets done!

Really odd from Lachie and Jules. They had to know when they moved that they’d most likely be having a family. Now after 3 years they want to leave. Very disappointing if true. We get as much as we can and we build a stronger
Team.

Really good opportunity for Dev and Cam now. Can just hear the commentators a couple of months into next year waxing lyrical about how seamlessly they’ve moved into Lachie’s role. Parker would be a great get too.

Covid’s a b!tch and I completely understand Lachie and Jules wanting to move back to WA. I hope it works out for both us and them.

WA border restrictions would have made the last 2 years tough, and couldn’t have been predicted when he made the decision to come to us. It’s shitty but we were a better team without him in some ways this year.

Get a top ten pick and an additional first or early second and rebalance the list. Clug is ready for more time inside.

I’d then throw all the money at Luke Parker IMO but may not be the clubs plan.
No way Free will give that for him. After the Hogan debacle - zero chance

You would think the club would issue some sort of a statement today or tomorrow. I expect that at least so we know officially what is going on.

Hi guys, sorry to comment on your section of big footy but as a freo fan I don’t particularly want Lachie Neale back.

we’re trying to build a decent football team within a similar age bracket so our strategy would be DRAFT, I’m excited to get a few firsts for Cerra as it would compliment our list build.

Now we’ve got Lachie Neale, yes he’s one of the best footballers in the country but he will be 29 next year? We’ve got a 19 year old Caleb Serong playing the Neale role very very well for his age and I really believe Serongs career trajectory will be higher than Neale’s.

Makes no sense getting him back considering we’d definitely have to pay the Adam Cerra bounty to Brisbane and Neale is going to be 29 next year. I’d rather stick with Serong and add 2-3 young guns to the mix.
Nailed it - no Neale!!!!!!!!

IF it's true ....
When Neale came from Freo it was : The Lions gave up picks six, 19 (from GC) and 55 in this year's NAB AFL Draft while receiving Neale and selection No.30.
So effectively an early and late first and a late third for Neale and late 2nd. I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up part of Cerra getting to Carlton (or however) but in total I'd be wanting a first, or a second and a best 22 player.
IF it's true ....Matho signing for 2 years makes more sense now (as against 1 year)

Strangely not as disappointed as I expected I’d be about this news. I’m definitely in the Luke Parker camp as a replacement. A few months older and very similar statistically. Maybe not the ability to win as many possessions as Lachie, but kicks more goals. As long as we maximise the trade value this can work.

Funnily enough Im not devestated about this. Love him, but shown we win without him. We have depth and young prospects. Dev Robbo, McCluggage, Berry, Bailey, Rayner, Prior, Sharp and even Starcevich.
Luke Parker would be a great pick up.
Im not sure theres any player on Freo's list I would be interested in, that Freo would be willing to let go so draft picks probably the way to go.

Not seeing very much here that's says Lachie we love you, don't go. Says it all really.

I would much prefer for him to stay.

I don't think pleading on BF is going to do anything to ensure that.

If someone requests a trade inter-state, the writing is 90% on the wall - sometimes a deal doesn't get struck, but I don't remember a case of anyone actively changing their mind (other than occasionally which state to go to - hey, Mitch!).

Brisbane GM of football Danny Daly on TAB Radio concerning Lachie Neale: "It’s all news to us as far as we’re concerned. I can't make any comment as I haven't spoken to Lachie. The club will put out a statement once they have spoken to Lachie."

Maybe we have been blindsided by this? Would be far more disappointing if that’s the case.

Wowee imagine if it’s true and Lachie has had his manager leak it to the media.

If it’s a COVID thing I wonder if we could give Lachie a few months off or time to train away from the group until borders are opened back up for good

It might be true or might be just our line for now. I wouldn't take it at face value necessarily.
