The equation is basically what we faced against Melbourne a few years ago. You can't let them run through stoppages. Break even in the midfield and we win.

hmm where was that? any link?
Just saw it on Fox Footy earlier:

Earlier, Hinkley said Rioli was “no lock” to return for the clash against the Lions at Friday morning’s press conference.

“We will make sure he pulls up fine. We don’t want to make any mistakes. At this stage of his career with a calf, if you get it wrong it can be really bad.

“It will be about how he pulls up tomorrow (Saturday). We are optimistic but that does not mean he will get there.”

If whoever is preparing the preview doesn’t reference pears, never tear us apart, tarps and master coach Kenny Hinkley then what are we even doing here
I feel like I mentioned one of these and it went completely unnoticed.

Few more players apparently could be ill in the port team. Had a little look in the port thread.
We really have no excuses tomorrow. None. Zero. Zilch. And nobody's really touched on our 8 day break vs their 6 day break, which may have only been 5 realistically if they didn't get out of Sydney on the Sunday night.

Just hope our lads have had all their shots. Win or lose we have a 6 day break of our own coming 😬

Spicey cough rampant.

My kids high school has sent out a chicken pox warning - cases have been present in the school.

And a friends 20yo kid has it as well. She is fully vaccinated. There's no cross over with the school. This kid was in nsw, developed about ten blisters and got the OK from the 1300 health line to travel home on a plane. Given how contagious and dangerous it is for pregnant women I was stunned by that advice. The day after she got back she was covered in blisters.

I didn't know till now that it can take 21 days for exposure to develop symptoms.

It’s winter, and that always means a significant rise in viruses.

There’s the new strain of covid going around, RSV and a third respiratory virus that I can’t remember the name of, but is going around the southern and bayside areas of Brissy.

And as a country, we’re short of antibiotics for these illnesses, particularly for children.

Antibiotics do absolutely nothing against viruses anyway. They're for bacterial infections.

Flu A is the other one probably, seeing a lot of that at the moment. And as has been said you don’t need antibiotics for viruses, because they don’t do anything - and we’re not short on antibiotics anyway.

If you’re talking antivirals, for covid they basically don’t do anything in the first place which is largely the reason why they’re not around anymore.
