Apparently he broke up with his girlfriend earlier this year and she moved to Byron Bay - now their is a conspiracy theory with Mitchel to Brisbane.
Good luck getting to Bryon Bay at the moment! (I know that this won't be the case in 2022...)

I'm pretty sure Parker is looking for a suitor to get the swans to buckle. But if (big if) there is any chance he would offer a point of difference compared to lachie. He's not a better player but might be a better mix and let us rotate others through the middle given he is better up forward than Neale.

In my opinion, the Lions and Swans are in a similar window, so Parker may either choose the stay at the Swans or take the money (i.e. Gold Coast etc).

Question is; can the swans buckle? Especially if they want to hang onto the younger guys Dawson and Stephens

Who cares about Stephens tbh. Dawson would be a higher priority. I'd also be fine with us throwing cash at Dawson, even acknowledging that we'd have to trade for him.

Dawson would be awesome for us... bye bye Birch.

Back 7 rotation >

Darcy Gardiner, Harris Andrews, Jordan Dawson.
Daniel Rich, Marcus Adams, Keidean Coleman. - Brandon Starcevich.

As a Freo supporter I say:
1. You were ripped by umps
2. There is not a huge groundswell of support to take Neale back. If he returns it won't be for much ( either an early 2nd rd or a first rd swap )
The desire for him isn't that great - we already have a team of dwarfs.

Dawson played wing late in the season and was fantastic there too. But I assume its the swans or Adelaide offers him money neither us nor them could match.

I'd like Parker but don't see him moving to be honest. They'll haggle for a while and find a common ground somewhere.

I have changed my mind on this topic a bit now, Neale exit might give us the salary cap relief and do a mini-list reno via draft like Power and Demons did recently. 2 or 3 first rounders this year would be an awesome get and also cap space to retain whom we want to extend. While Parker or Mitchell might be ideal, I am also thinking we could go with permanent midfield time for McCluggage, Berry and Robertson.

Ok no problem Peter Bell. Early 2nd?
We'll keep him then.

Like I said - we don't care. Keep a bloke who has mentally checked out, go for it.

Your coach doesn't feel that way or he wouldn't have discussed this with Neale.
This blind ignorance is the same one your mob had when Neale wanted to leave Fremantle. See a pattern yet?

Because supporter bases opinions are always aligned with the club?

One of my favourite parts of BF is the disconnect between fans thinking their consensus on something matches a team's thoughts.

No need to mention that you are a Freo supporter. Easy to infer that when u suggested an early second for Neale.

Agree, there are going to be a lot of disappointed fans on both sides of this one.

The mental gymnastics supporters go through when a trade is announced is astounding. In no way are we better without him…literally broke the record for most disposals in a final a week ago.

Having said that I do agree it is a chance for us to finally get the big bodied mid we have been lacking for a number of years. I wonder if the coaches see Ely Smith as someone who could play from round one next year or if we go hard at someone like Parker

If thats Fremantles offer then West Coast would be crazy not to make a play.

Back end Neales contract for when Kennedy, Hurn, Mcgovern are gone. They could make it work.

Whatever way, the Lions will get plenty for him.

If reports are true he completely blindsided the club, speaking to Freo and not raising his concerns with us, then I have absolutely no sympathy for him. I understand the complex family situations, but he's clearly treating it as a business (that's fine), we should too.
I'd hold him to contract unless it's something well worth our while (realistically, I know we won't, but I'd love us to take a stand).

I'm in the minority on trade scenarios. While Parker and others mentioned are good players, I think we have depth to cover Neale. If we end up with 4 picks in the top 20, I'd bank them. Another wave of high talent coming through while McCluggage, Berry, Starce, Bailey et al are young isn't a horrible outcome.

So because Longmuir has spoken to Neale it means they are going to pay thru the nose does it?
We'll see.

WCE are already slow and old...........no chance

No, it just means that the club won't be silly enough to offer a 2nd rounder for the current Brownlow medallist. Would have thought that was obvious enough.

My point is Freo supporters don't necessarily want him back unless it's cheap. Sorry if you missed that.
Haha. So you are the spokesperson for the Freo supporter base are you? I haven't missed anything. You are completely out of your mind if you honestly think that a second rounder will get the deal done. Out. Of. Your. Mind.
