There's way too many northern clubs. Within about a 15km radius, you have Salisbury, Salisbury North, Brahma Lodge, Ingle Farm, Para Hills, Mawson Lakes, Elizabeth, Eastern Park, Central United, Smithfield, Trinity OS and Pooraka. That's not including NE clubs like Golden Grove and Modbury.

With country clubs offering more pay and players constantly shifting from club to club, it comes as no surprise that many of them are struggling to keep afloat.

There used to be a bunch of clubs at Port Adelaide and they had their own league. Ethelton was one, Riverside, Alberton United. A bunch merged.

The northern clubs need to go through the same process

Old Scholars clubs should be ****ed off entirely if you ask me

Laughed at this but also think you have a point , I reckon they should form their own league

Or have top league with second league relegation

Says a bit about his commitment to Footy.

From first round pick, gifted regular games, delisted and playing ammo Footy and under 24 year of age.

Don’t think commitment was his issue ; was as commited as anyone

Heard rumours he basically told the club they could pay him minimum wage for as long as they want , he just wanted to be involved

Just talent and lack of size / athletics traits were the slight issue …. Pretty important trifecta

Sounds like he was a ripper for club culture however

The old scholars clubs did talk about this when there was a spate of on-field violence 15-20 years ago but now that all games are filmed this has settled down

I still think it makes alot of sense to do it given they aren’t community clubs but it would prob be more difficult now than 15 years ago as some old collegians clubs pay alot more than others these days which was never the case before ie no payment

Ironically one old scholars club has been a cause of a few incidents over time.

OS clubs never used to pay at all and that would have been opportune time to start an OS league
