He is not a footballer in the most purest sense, his football iQ is literally nil.

Can't find the ball when running his guts out all day and when he finally does get his hands on the pill he burns it every god damn time.

How can the coaches keep constantly backing someone in with such little results. Back in the old boys must exceed every other metric.

And beat his opponent and mark and kick

Could he have chosen a worse comparison than Max? Max can actually defend not just pretend to. Not to mention he has composure with ball in hand which Ned could only dream of. All of this while being much younger.

Maybe it's good coaching why he gets so few touches.
He tends to panic when he gets the ball, so the less he has it, the better right?
The ultimate decoy...

Crikey listening to him was horrendous.

His comment that supporters complain about players getting a lack of possessions but don’t know the role they are playing, brings up Max as an example, “he runs heaps”. You idiot, we can all see the role Max plays and how well he plays it, he’s being lauded not criticised for lack of possessions.

Max went at 100% efficiency on the weekend.

Ned went at 38%.

If having someone in the team to just be a runner was important why bother picking a footballer?

Does Peter Bol want a career change? He could be a runner even better than Ned.
Why not play Karl Gallagher then? Atleast the guy also has some top end speed. He’s only a year younger than Ned so has been a professional sportsman for almost as long.

McHenry doesn't seem to understand that supporters aren't complaining about how much he runs. They're complaining about how little he contributes.

Max's contributions are quantifiable and clear for everyone to see. McHenry's are marginal at best.

If he ran 4km a match instead of 14km I'd view him exactly the same.

Why come on here to gloat?

Because so often there are people who act all high and mighty on here and are quick to howl you down when you dont fit their narrative on a topic. The same way the Happy Clappers come out the woodwork whenever Nicks wins a game. And it should be pointed out that people were wrong so they can learn to own it.

In truth though, i find it funny. Thats why I gloat. Gloatings the winners dance.

And the one good thing he does for every 10 horrible stuff up.

Why did you say that about Schoenberg after his 2020 season? Professionalism?

I think I said it at the end of 2021 from memory. I cant truly remember which year it was. they all blur together these days. Not like I can go, yeah that was a finals year!

Without looking up my actual comments I think it revolved around that I don't think he makes for a great midfielder. He had a good year, don't get me wrong, But there was simply something about him that never really showed he could get to another level in his game. My comment revolves more around Ned though.

I've said numerous times in all my postings to me I am always happy to be proved wrong. So if Schoenberg can come back and become a force in the midfield, thats a win. Same when I criticise Nicks. If he proves me wrong, im not going to be upset by that. Some of it is unfair.

He has all the attributes to be a best 22 midfielder, speed, creative by hand and his kicking was low and accurate in the first few years (it has gone quite shit after that). I recall the concern was around his professionalism.

Moral of the story, ignore Tom Lynch

A couple more pearlers from Tom,

Lachie Murphy's improving every session and Ben Davis has had an unreal summer.

"And you've got the competition of Elliott Himmelberg and Billy Frampton, those two are bulls who are competing every day."
