I hate unnecessary usage of the apostrophe. I despise it when I see "CD's for sale!" in a shop.

"CD is for sale!" - What, only one?
OR
"The 'for sale' of the CD." I didn't know that it belonged to the CD!

Grrrrr!

Well in this case the apostrophe shows that it's a contraction of 'compact discs' and not the acronym 'CDs'.

This is one of my most hated errors. I'm a bit of a grammar Nazi on myself, but tend to let things from other people slide. That is one I just can't let go. That, and the word "versed"

'loose' instead of 'lose'

'insipid' - anyone use that in everyday life?
I quite like "insipid". A bit classier than "shit", i.e., "His performance today was insipid" -v- "His performance today was shit".

"Hotting" up instead of "Heating". I've only started hearing this in the last 1-2 years, definitely from Hutchy a few times

Backflip- When a club say "I guarantee that this player wont be traded, he will sign with us or go to the draft"
Then gets traded;)
Or, we will not take pick 19, it is 12 or nothing.
Then takes pick 19.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but, "WEAGLES WEB"...
Definition: Fox Footy take an overhead shot of an Eagles game. They pick out a handful of players, completely ignoring other players in that immediate area, they play join the dots, add some graphics and.... The Weagles Web!
It's a **** en zone! That's all it is Kingy!
Gerard Healy having to invent a new saying every year when he finds a new tactic. He came up with Clarko's cluster in 2008 and has been trying to come up with something new ever year ever since then, but Weagles Web is the only one that has stuck.
