Ross, in the afl game there should be a brownlow voting system where during the season say ur playing as collingwood and with Dane swan u rack up 30possesions+( 10hard ball gets, 8 clearances) you are NOT awarded brownlow votes, that would make it more realistic.... Instead it should be picked from a hat (like previous afl tittles)

Are you sure you worded that right? I know you're a Collingwood supporter, but just sayin'

Let leave out all the Brownlow crap guys.

Besides Ross told me they've created a A.I Ian Collins who will randomly suspend players for striking.

Yep still bitter.

I guess it's safe to say that Juddy will be (one of?) the cover athlete(s) for the game, hey Ross?

Would you need to get the player's permission to use them on the cover or is it a given that you can use whoever you like because you have the AFL licence?

There are a lot of restrictions on what can be used in terms of the AFL license. Players often need to be licensed directly in addition to the AFL license.

I have an idea of who is on the cover but there is nothing confirmed.

Ross,

Can you change player weight and height? this was in AFL 2007 and I think its a good option especially for the rookies it makes the game more realistic when you play multiple seasons. Also what is the reasoning behind no tribunal, I think its a good thing because its another thing that can cost you making it a harder game to play!

Yeah, we measured legs, arms, etc... I haven't had time to check the player measurements but my memory of Buddy is certainly not "emu" legs - at least I'd never say that to him :)

PS: I should add that those snippets are work in progress - I couldn't be sure that the final scaling was on the bosy in any case.
Yeah, he's not Emu for his legs alone, just his athletic build, being quite slender.

In that screenshot he just looks a bit too thick around the quads, but if it's a work in progress then we'll just wait and see how it finally looks.

Will Cyril Rioli have the ability to do things that others can't? ;)

Are 5 minute quarters the default? Or will 10 minutes be the default time fore the most realistic scores?

We shall find out how realistic this game is on saturday night ;)

is there off the ball play ross? I know the game is trying to keep a g rating, but is there any bumping or even any push and shove?

no head high bumps, tackles but no bumps

off the ball by-play incorporated into the game: "the off the ball play is currently my favourite thing to do, especially in 4 vs 4."

can smother, baulk, fend, shepherd, amongst other thing

imagine doing that to normal 30 minute quarters, the scoreline would be ridiculously high lol

Just like most games I guess! On FIFA you could have a 3-2 scoreline in a 10 minute game, so over 90 minutes it would be crazy.

I just hope that this is factored in when the other games are simmed so you have a fair chance of having your player win the Coleman etc.

I play RLL with 10 min halves, which in my games produce scores of between 18-30 roughly for each team, but the points difference in the sim games are double what I can achieve. Ive not looked at the other games scores, but theyre obviously double what I can achieve, even when i smash teams.

But then in stats like 'meters gained' the top ten players are all from my team.

Hope these sort of things have had more focus in the AFL game.

i brought RLL today. Honestly i thought it was a little off too me, i think the gameplay is good and i havent played online yet i wanna get a lot better, i dont follow rugby really to be honest but only got this game to see what i could be looking forward to in the AFL game. I dont know how to take this game because yes you dont have the money like ea sports and the likes. I know theres so much you can do with a game with the budget you have. But ill be truthful and say that the controls really annoy me and seems out of position in the way you play the game. But since im not a rugby fan it would be hard to grab the eyes of other people like me who arent interested in rugby.

Only rugby fans will enjoy this game, cos im finding it hard to get in the groove of it, because i hated soccer with the passion when i was younger but i played fifa once at a mates and it really caught my eye as this game wouldnt. But i do see the future in this game if big ant does make enough money on it. because the gameplay is better then i expected and there is no glitches that i have seen yet so ya do have that covered. Needs to be more modes as well. Graphics wise i dont care. they arent the worst going around. I really hope AFL has this addictive feeling as RLL doesnt yet. Its hard to make out what the AFL game will be like. But its a good start to hopefully a good version of sporting titles coming out.
