That was a captains game. So many intercept possessions. You wonder where this form has been? It looked like he decided to take responsibility to become the intercept player instead of blocking for others and watching them fail.

It was great, just don’t understand where it’s been all year…

Are you related to Alex Pearce and The Kenyan as well? I don't wanna risk a ban by being too negative.

What I will say is that it's pretty clear Alex Pearce isn't that good anymore my friend. Also, Andrew Brayshaw and Caleb Serong, especially, have nothing to do with that.
What is pretty clear, you have no idea what you are talking about, my friend.

Yeah nah. I still maintain he's a bad captain, having a bad year. Had a good game yesterday though. What is your problem?

He was able to actually train this week. I imagine that would help

He was clearly emotional when he was interviewed after the game. Think it meant a great deal to him. Luke Ryan made sure to give him some encouragement too. To me he’s like Moore from the Pies in terms of personality and what he believes. It’s a new or different type of captain.

Yep, the same one who has had terrible luck with injuries.
Two broken legs, a broken ankle and played a lot of this season with a foot issue and not being able to train.

Do you think the club has done enough to protect him from himself?

Why play him injured? destroy his confidence, people question his leadership, looks like a shadow of the player we know.

Why not put Hamling in earlier in the year? I’d prefer 15 games from Pearce at yesterdays standard than 23 games this year with only 2-5 games at the top standard.

Probably not but they're naturally competitive and just want to play.
People on the outside may question his leadership but internally he is highly regarded, as was reinforced in JL's post match comments and the players response yesterday.
The real issue is the inconsistency of a very young group.
Hamling has had a lot of issues with an ankle injury.

Because Hamling isn’t very good.

While it doesn't erase the fact that he's had a very poor year, I feel that this game is the beginning of him finding his feet again, we can only hope.

I hope so as well. Some of the posts here taking a shot at anyone who has criticised him off the back of one game are as far removed from common sense as the people who thought his nose ring had something to do with his form.

Let's hope he plays to or close to that standard for the remainder of the year. The position still needs to be looked at but it so good having a strong KPD again.

Vital that Davies and Draper have huge preseasons to put some pressure on him next year. That said, he'll probably lose the captaincy and be a better player for it.
That's it really. One of the reasons I didn't want him to be captain was so he could focus on himself and staying fit.
