Club reporting 3-4 weeks but I'm going to conservatively push that out to 6 (based on nothing but vibes).

Unfortunately probably the end of his AA chances. But still should be back to be our first ever premiership captain

It sucks because After the swans game at the MCG, The next 3 or 4 games after that are winnable if he was fit

Ur saying the 3-4 games after Sydney aren't winnable because we have an acute Moose deficiency?
That's way too pessimistic.

So credit where it's due... I'm not going to go back and look, but I'm sure by this time last year I'd made quite a few posts doubting Pearce's leadership and declaring he needed to hand over the reins to Serong or Brayshaw this year.

Well he's well and truly proved me wrong. His onfield presence has been immense this year now that he's back to full fitness. Just a one-man wall controlling the backline and singlehandedly rebounding opposition attacks at will.

The broken arm has cost him what would have ben a well deserved AA. In fact, if he was a Carlton player they would still probably name him AA captain from here.

I was no better. He was very obviously injured in retrospect.

Gun this year and leading well.

Think it’s time for the Brayshaw captaincy. 144 games for Andy to Pearce 122.
He’s matured now.

I was 100% on him or Serong ASAP but to be fair Pearce has done nothing wrong this year.

In fact the way he lifted himself after a poor 2023 to lead the club and put us in the position it was until his injury showed his leadership qualities.

If the players feel Pearce isn’t done with the captaincy yet, that’d be okay. But on the other hand maybe it is time for us to be proactive.

Either way it’s not the biggest issue concerning the club this offseason.

How dumb they let him play and get injured again. Poor management again. He would have been a big help but alas he couldn’t be used.

Now I may be wrong on this. But I believe the chances of him getting injured did not change significantly whether we brought him back against GC or later. That’s the problem with a plate

The only thing that would've reduced his chances was waiting the full however many weeks it would've taken for the bone to heal without a plate. Which probably would have ruled him out for the rest of the season anyway.

He tested the arm out a lot, plenty of tackle, spoils etc. but it got caught in an awkward position again in a marking contest. The same thing he'd done all week in training. It's just bad luck.

I understand that. But club has to be proactive and get in either Brayshaw or Serong. Both have consistency, both willing to put the team on their back.
Just feel Pearce is a motivational off field guy. He’s been injured for too long.

Also the leadership group has to change.
Switta and JOM need to move on.

Get in Treacy, Jackson and perhaps Chapman.

I'm glad I always loved watching JT and said he'd be in the Leadership Group BEFORE his breakout season! We're going to have this machine until 2030.

Also not sure about Chapman, definitely can't see it with Jackson.

A nice little Treacy for JOM switch would be great. Need some more representation from forwards again (also lets be honest Switta is more of a mid too) especially a tall.

Chapman - can’t see it yet.

Switta out and Jackson in? Yuck.

Treacy in, 100% on board with that. But I don't see why Switta should be omitted, especially for Jackson right now
