Brendan Bolton. He isn't on a fixed contract at Carlton. He's on some stupid employee contract which I believe is reviews every 12 months. Offer him 5 years.

In a few months he's turned a bunch of useless pricks into a decent team. Imagin what he does with our list.

Also, like the way he operates. Saw a few mins of his Carlton doco and was very impressed.

he has gone into flog mode the last couple of weeks at his press conferences.

Press conferences don't do much for me anymore. We have probably the press conference coach there is.

Clarko and Malthouse are and were absolute nongs at times during their pressers. Ross Lyon too.

All had their teams running like rolex's.

Brett Ratten?! There's a reason the Blues got rid of him. He built a front-running, uncontested brand of football which fell apart in finals and pressure games. Structures were always suspect against good teams, and deteriorated so badly by the end of his reign that the gameplan fell apart entirely against absolute minnows like Gold Coast and GWS. Won only a single final, against a crippled Essendon, during the entirety of his five year tenure.

Any of that sound familiar, gang?

Has anyone ever looked closely at our past list of coaches? I would be positive that not one of them would have ever had to apply for the position or had to prove to a panel that they had the right attributes to be a successful coach. Eg Alistair Clarkson wasn't first choice of many for the Hawthorn gig but he won them over during the application process. Especially Dunstall. Brendan Bolton was up against many other potential Carlton coaches but he won out after proving he was the most suited to their needs. Luke Beveridge seemed like an unusual choice but the exhaustive process again made sure the right man was picked. If we are to move the coach on I hope we throw open the position and have a thorough procedure to find the best coach for Collingwood at the current time.

To poach one of the best young coaches in the game from our biggest rival due to their stupid rolling 12 month contract, would be pretty sweet and the ultimate troll job.

But I think Bolton has too much integrity to leave after 1 year.

Unfortunately, I agree. Would be great. Just when they're starting to get their shit together too.

If we become ruthless again we would be more than capable of it.
