Teams New England Patriots - The Pats

Season ended pretty much as I had expected and likewise we finished about where i thought we would.

Had a few close L's and thats a good and true indication of where the roster is at is at...... transitioning but not yet good enough.

The teams in transition and we now need to plot and execute our way through free agency and the draft, to add the next layer in the roster rebuild.
Currently we have very little dead money and the fourth amount of cap space, so some of our glaring needs will be able to be addressed during the FA period.

Bills will be the bench mark next season but the gap between us and the Fins is paper thin and the Jets will keep being the Jets.

A priority need IMO is a new OC as Patricia just doesn't fill me with any confidence ( polite version ).

Given the annual coaching merry go round is about to be switched on, we need to be pro active in securing ourselves a much better Offensive Coordinator.

I am certainly not glum about where we are in the rebuild and I am looking forward to see what reinforcements we add in the off season.

No reason the Pats aren't competing for the division next year. This was always a gap year... and still finished 8-9.

Miami are limited because of Tua, but still uber talented. However can't compete down the stretch of the season due to QB limitations.

The Jets have potential, better than their record and if they bring in a good QB should be in the playoffs.

All that being said, almost a certainty that New England is returning to the playoffs for next year given their timeline.

Patriots start their search and interviews for a new OC next week.

Also been reported that negotiables well under way with a long term contract for Mayo to keep him at Foxborough, apparently the desire is mutual to keep the two parties together.

Good to see that we are addressing the massive hole with out having a competent OC.

[JPA] #Steelers TE Pat Friermuth with some harsh words on #Patriots HC Bill Belichick: “I wouldn’t want to play for Bill Belichick, heard some stories, and I’m good not playing for him.”

Is Pat even a top 10 te in the league ? Love how he throws shade at a hof coach when he was happy to go and play at Penn State and we have all heard stories on what goes on there over the years.

"All in in the family, keeping familiarity", seems to have worked well so far.

I will be very surprised if BO'B isn't announced as the OC very shortly, after which he will probably bring in one or two others to assist him.

BO'B would be just the tonic Mac Jones needs to help him reset for his third season.

Bill O'Brien officially back as OC. Thank Christ for this rehire, we may return to being a functional, watchable Offence.

Excellent news........... was pretty much expected, but nice to finally have it done.

MassLive's Mark Daniels reports Mac Jones is "very excited" to work with new Patriots offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien.

Jones and O'Brien overlapped briefly at Alabama, where Jones worked with O'Brien during the pre-draft process in 2021 and helped O'Brien learn the ins and outs of Alabama's offensive system. O'Brien served as New England's offensive coordinator from 2009 to 2011, before he landed the Texans head coaching position. "Considering O’Brien learned Josh McDaniels’ system first, he now can mix and match the Patriots former system and Alabama’s current offense," Daniels said. "That should create an offense that best fits Jones’ skill set." Jones took a major step back in 2022 following a hopeful rookie campaign. How much of that can be pinned on former OC Matt Patricia is up for debate.

Big game player, versatile and smart a genuine leader and standard setter.

Pretty fair to say that two Lombardi Trophies sit in Patriot Place that would not have been there had it not been for D H.

He was the barricade that stopped Lynch when we beat Seattle.

He was the player who stripped sacked Ryan to get the greatest Super Bowl comeback ever to knock off Atlanta.

Some would say he also had a huge part in the win over the Rams as he peppered and terrorised Jarrad Goff to help render him shot of any confidence. between him and Van Noy they made Goff have a day of hell.

Whilst his retirement was pretty much on the cards, it's always sad to see Team Champions hang up the cleats.

Three time Super Bowl winner and a one Club Player he sits in rarified air.

He will undoubtable be in The Patriot Hall of Fame and I would not be surprised if he get a place in Canton and a Gold jacket.

Will always be one of my all time favourite patriots. :nflpatriots:

Thank you Good Sir and all the very best in the next chapter of your life.
