deledio or pav. both have had slow starts but are starting to hit form. would it be better to get lids or fork out the extra 8k and get pav.

murphy or judd. both had good starts to the season and are averaging 100. is murphy worth the extra 20k or is the judd the man.

leaning toward murphy and deledio but still a little unsure can i get some thoughts on this?

Delido and murphy would be my choices

I reckon Lids has bottomed out, and murphy is a gun in DT

Grimes or broughton?

grimes looks to score much better and i would be using him as a scoring player depending on if houlihan is playing.

or

should i just pull in the extra cash from picking broughton and settle for an ave score between 40-60 if houlihan misses?

thoughts?

both :)

i am going to do this week (baring selection)

rance - grimes

petrenko - broughton

rance will be out for a good month longer. Raines is not a valid cover.

Petrenko is stinking it up big time and if broughton stays fit he should stay in the freo side.

Id go for Sidebottom. Was named in the best last week, so should keep his spot. Fair chance to at least equal Polo's current average, plus it makes you cash.

Trading in either two of the following players, would love to know your thoughts lads, first option is secure, and in my opinion both players have room for improvement, while the other will gain me the best foward in the comp and back who will rise alot over the next few weeks.

1)
houlihan > gilbee
krak > franklin

2)
houlihan > grimes
krak > volt

the first one would complete my backline with a keeper in gilbee, having said that i will be picking grimes as a keeper if i go that option, but there is that element of doubt, i think he will play every game if fit, but we have to rmember we are trading in a player that has played 3 games of afl ever.

I dont know why i am writting in upper case...

Should I start Raines or Hill and Hartlett or Otten?

i would say hill and otten.

should i trade mitch brown or travis tuck for sidebottom.

then.... hill ----> grimes or fisher/makie/p bourg

i can only get fisher/etc if i trade out tuck.

thoughts? i leaning towards tuck, but then dont know about grimes vs 350k backman........ I grimes a keeper?

Which of these is the best trade?

Krak/Jack Roo for Sidebottam/Nick Roo
Or
Hodge/Jack or Krak for Grimes/Forward b/w 440 and 450 (Pav/Davis... I got Stevie J)
or
Kreuzer/Hodge for Grimes/Cox

Bank is 23100

thx for opinions

What do people see as a better finishing combination? Would love to afford all of Riewoldt, Bartel, Ablett and Franklin, but that'd be a massive stretch!

1. Ziebell, Grimes, Ablett, Bartel, Riewoldt

or

2. Hodge, Franklin, S Thompson, Ablett, Riewoldt

Basically, I can't see myself getting the three big guns in Ablett, Bartel, Riewoldt unless I downgrade Hodge to Grimes this week. Grimes would have to become a keeper if I traded him in.

do u guys recon grimes is worth it, if he is just short of of keeper (which i recon he is), he is a waste of money???

do u recon go him or mackie/scotland/p bourg

i think grimes looks good and he probably is just short of being a keeper but i wouldnt say he is a waste of money or a trade..

He should score decently as he was groomed to be the link man between the backline and the midfield (Davey being the middle link man and Wona playing the forward linking role)
But in saying this how much less will he score compared to mackie or scotland or purgoyne?

Surely it won't be that much, and with the money you gain getting him in rather than any of the other 3 it could be a handy pick up and you could easily improve your team elsewhere.

Unless your backs are in dire need or a premium im not sure if you should look past him

In saying all this i really like the kid and my bias side might just be showing :D

imo hayes. absolutely gunning it at the moment last 4 weeks 130,100,130,147 and only just coming back to full fitness. playing for the saints he plays something like 10 of the last 15 games at the dome so is gana be playing in great conditions most of the time. dosnt usually get a tag with dal santo and montagna going so well. gets a heap of touches but also a few marks and a lots of tackles all the right formulas for a good dt score. should average 110 for the year and be in the top 4 or 5 mids. most will probably say swan though.

Swan or Hayes folks?
I think Swan.

Hayes is a gun DTer, but maybe his scores are helped by the dominance of STK so far this year. What happens when STK start to perform poorly? Will Hayes' form drop off? Seems to have a bit of an injury history as well.

Swan is a proven gun DTer - does well when team is going good or bad. Has been pretty durable, however he is still carrying a slight injury from the other week v STK.

By the end of the year, I think Swan will score better than Hayes. Swan will be going down this week, and Hayes wil be going up. If you want Hayes, get him this week. If you want Swan, wait a week or 2. Can't go wrong with either really. I'm probably a little biased towards Swan because I had him all last year and this year and has not let me down once.

Folks, any chance I can get an opinion on the above?

Obviously this will take a lot of good timing, but I guess it is how it could pan out after I do my trades this week.

i would go option 2 mate all keepers there and you would think thompson and buddy will hit some form shortly. and hodgey should be back in hopefull another 1-3 weeks and with the rest might have a huge 2nd half of the season.

That's what I was thinking too, but I guess Bartel just looks so blody good and I want him in my team... Then again, the only way to get someone like that into your side at his price is by foregoing players in other positions for a cheaper option.

Looking at it again, I'd love to end up with option 2 - fat chance of it actually happening though. I think after the last few weeks with injuries, if I start worrying about every small injury my team gets, I'll run out of trades. So I'm going to just go upgrading my team, and if players get injuries for 2-3 weeks I might just have to cop it on the chin and hope that they are fit at the end of the season for finals!
