Liverpool fans won't be a fan of the name

Also obligatory Neighbours genius

Liverpool fans are like Crows fans in that regard. Every signing is a scoop, every sacked coach is part of a masterplan.

"I am a physical preparation coach from Belgrade, Serbia, grow up in Pula, Croatia (which I consider my home town). I was involved in physical preparation of professional, amateur and recreational athletes of various ages in sports such as basketball, soccer, volleyball, martial arts and tennis.

In the free time I train Boxing/MMA and lift (sometimes heavy), along with reading about statistics and learning R programming language. Some consider me Excel wizard. Interested in predictive analytics/machine learning

I am currently working at Football Performance and Science department in ASPIRE Academy, Doha, Qatar as Performance Analyst/Football Physiologist/Data Scientist (I wish I know

). All views on this blog, are of course mine."

Reading his blog and seeing he's using R and not just a few Excel functions, over the top of his Strength & Conditioning background has me pumped (come on Port start opening up pre-season days with fitness coaches for Platinum and above so it can be literally).

More excited about this then the Toumpas trade, and a close second to the Dixon one.

Says he's from the Aspire Academy in Doha. Same place that Nick Poulos was at before going to the Crows.

#roovolutionMk2 :p

I liked his answers in that interview. Excel, programming, weights, periodisation - ticks a lot of boxes.

Interview with the man in question
Mladen: I am lucky enough to say that the soccer culture in Sweden is a lot more different than back home (Serbia), especially when it comes to ‘real’ strength training. Still it is not even close to rugby, hockey or bundy (Swedes play this big-field hockey) when it comes to seriousness of strength training. I believe we need to work on educating coaches, managers and players on the importance of strength training. Using stories, backing them up with data might be a way to go, although it is hard to change a culture. Not impossible, but hard.

So which non soccer players has he worked with???? I hope he is a driven Serbian type rather than a soccer type.

Not only Jovanovic but Port has also brought in head physiotherapist Tim McGrath from an international rugby background and sports nutritionist Harry Routledge from Liverpool.

High performance specialist team joins Power

McGrath has held physiotherapy positions with various Rugby teams, including the Canberra Raiders, Sale Sharks, ACT Brumbies and the Australian Mens 7’s team and has most recently worked in a clinical setting.

Harry Routledge is a sports nutritionist and John Moore University student from Liverpool who’ll be completing his PHD while coming on board with the club.
